DESIGN

I couldn’t agree more with David Heinen, Master Instructor, Kaizen Golf Academy in California, “brilliantly designed” is a great way to describe the new RAKE Wedges by PNP Golf.  Available in Right or Left Handed models, the RAKE Wedges, in my opinion, “take all of the guess work out of short-game shots.”

AMAZING FEEL & CONSISTENCY

The first thing you notice, when you first put the RAKE Wedge in your hands, is the weight of the club.  It’s not overly heavy, but just heavy enough, to allow you to feel the club head throughout the swing.  I consider myself a pretty good sand and short game player, but will admit, I immediately became better after using the RAKE Wedge.

With the RAKE Wedge, it’s as easy as setting up to the target and swinging. The club effortlessly goes through the sand, and is just as impressive from all types of lies around the green.  From deeper greenside rough for example, the club is amazing and “rakes” through the grass with outstanding acceleration.

What surprised me most about the club, however, was its consistency from the sand. I hit the 56-degree Sand Wedge out of wet sand, fluffy sand, good lies, bad lies, . . . and even “fried egg” lies. It really is “as easy as setting up for the shot and swinging . . . the ball comes out every time.”

Local Golfer product tester, Greg Espich (14-handicap), from South Bend, Indiana, had similar results when he tested PNP’s 60-degree RAKE Wedge. Greg’s comments say it all:

“Easy to hit, from any lie. The club has a nice look and a great feel at address. The sound and feel of the ball off the clubface is crisp and dependable. The BEST club I have ever used out of the sand . . . period! The amount of spin and control the RAKE Wedge gives you, makes you feel like you can stop the ball on a dime. I can’t wait to hit it in the sand again!”

New Feature: Check Out Average Greens Fees Before You Play

At the LocalGolfer.com we are always trying to provide our user base with information they need to know before traveling to a course.  We strive to create a medium with the most up to date course conditions based on reviews our user community submits on a daily basis.  If you posted a review in the past few months you may have noticed we started to collect greens fees as part of the course review process.

In just a few short months we have collected over 500 greens fees records and now display the results on our course pages.  On each course page, if we have greens fees data we display an average greens fee for the course.  We hope that this is yet another important piece of information our user base can leverage to select where they book their tee time (which you can also now book tee times right on the course page).

As always “Don’t Play In The Dirt,” check LocalGolfer.com before you play to ensure your balls land on lush fairways rather than rocky dirt paths.
