Amusement parks, historical attractions, shopping, golf and more — a winning combination that makes Williamsburg one of America’s favorite family destinations. Whether churning butter in Colonial Williamsburg, riding a roller coaster at Busch Gardens, or hitting the links at one of the courses that makes the area one of the world’s Top 25 golf destinations, Williamsburg has tons to offer for people of all ages.
Over the next couple of weeks, The Local Golfer is going to highlight many of the courses in the Williamsburg area. We’re going to start with the Traditional Golf Club at Brickshire, mainly because it’s widely regarded as the most “player friendly” course in the area, and with golf season just beginning, I know I’m in “baby steps” mode as I ease back into the game.
Brickshire was designed by U. S. Open Champion Curtis Strange and plays nearly 7,300 yards from the Tips. While there is intrigue in the replicated holes from St. Andrews, Augusta National, Pinehurst #2 and Riviera CC, the wide & welcoming fairways, gently undulating greens and picturesque centuries-old tree line make this course a favorite among local golfers.
Keep checking out The Local Golfer for a chance to win a FREE stay-and-play Williamsburg Golf Trip at one of Traditional Golf Properties top courses!
