As per the previous writeup fairways are dormant at best; most likely dead. Rough is full and lush but with numerous tire ruts due to the amount of recent rain. Greens and traps are excellent however. Hopefully the maintenance crew can pull off a miracle and get the fairways back. Golf shop and snack bar staff are excellent.

It's been a while since I've played Hog Neck and four of us went over today. I do like the layout of this course, and it's a nice balance of some challenging holes with holes on which you can score. However, I have to say I was extremely disappointed in the shape of the course. The fairways were still dormant (brown in comparison to the rough) and simply just mud...not just one or two holes, but all of them! Maybe by June the course might be in decent shape, but even then I'm not sure the fairway grass will be recovered and filled in. Additionally, the greens had been aerated recently (like most in the area), and they had lots of pitch marks and aeration holes not filled in with sand causing them to be very bumpy...and very slow. It's really a shame--will be a while before I go back over. On a good note, though, the lady at the pro shop was extremely nice and accommodating, as was the café and starter folks. Great staff!

Hogs Neck has become a favorite to play, while on the Eastern Shore or heading out to Ocean City for a holiday vacation. The course is in amazing shape and the county put some work into the facilities. The staff in the Pro shop and on the course are very friendly. When you get off the 9th green and head over to the 10th, you can grab something to eat, at this well position restaurant. A little treasure for sure.

Challenging layout. Greens were good with a few scattered brown spots. Excellent sand in the traps. Fairways were good, but rough was long and spotty with mower damage in several places. Tees were excellent. Staff was great as they usually are here.

The staff is always friendly, and the course has a decent layout. It drains well also, because with all the rain we've had it was pretty dry. There were only a couple places which were soggy and most of those were in the rough and main walking areas between cart path and fairway. Unfortunately, though, I hate the fairway grass (I believe it's Zoysia). It's spongy and wraps itself around the club if you dig a little too deep for the ball. The other issue I have with Hog Neck is the pace of play. It's consistently slow. With all due respect, as a woman I'm tired of hearing how slow women play. We played through three foursomes of men starting on the turn. I've never seen so many 90 degree hooks off the tee or golfers playing tees that were beyond their skill level or those who appear to need to spend more time taking lessons. I'm all for playing on a course, but come on fellas...be aware of your surroundings and, when you're holding up the rest of the course behind you, pick it up! Unfortunately, every time we play this course we experience long rounds. I couldn't wait for this round to be over.

Greens and fairways are in great shape. Back tees are being reseeded and are not playable. Rough is dry and also bare in some places. Greenside bunkers have a drainage problem after a rainstorm. Snack bar is excellent. Course is challenging and a great place to play.

Have played this course several times in the past. Played early in the spring (March) and didn't review. This is a really great course and great value for the money. The front 9 is a little open, but things narrow down in the back quite a bit. The condition of the course is very good at this point. The crew does a great job of maintaining the track. Challenging but not punishing. The only down side this trip is the middle tee boxes have been power raked it appears and are not in use. The effect... the blue and gold tees are moved back on most holes and the ladies tees are virtually all moved up and off the actual tee box... hitting from the long grass. Yardage gained, but not a proper tee. Minor issue that will probably go away in fairly short order. Overall, a great little course to play and a good value.

Greens were all painfully slow and needed to be groomed. No beverage cart. Had one WATER FOUNTAIN on the course, and no water stations. Mid day round on a Thursday took over 5 hours; pace of play was terrible! No marshal or starter. Rough needed cutting. Patches of dirt on some of the fairways. They put too much money in to their clubhouse and driving range, and completely forgot that people come there to play golf. The layout is pretty terrible and not enjoyable. Spend an extra $10 and play Queenstown or Hunter's Oak just down the street.

The clubhouse/Proshop are above average. Good Set up to Practice tee and 19th hole. Rough was very high and patchy. Fairways had crab grass everywhere. Greens were very slow but decent. 15 ft. off fairways in rough was poorly manicured. Hard to find balls with any misshot, even in rough. Layout is ok, only a few fun holes. $45 in the middle of the week is an average price.

Course is in very good shape. Tees have just been resodded (not replanted). Staff is friendly and snck bar is excellent. Layout is unusual, open with a lot of water in play on the front nine, tree lined and somewhat narrow on the back nine. All in all a fun course for me.

The front nine was a disappointment, offered no challenge. The hole were just to close to one another. The back nine was alot better, the courses looked as if they were designed by two different architects. When you firs drive up the overall club house and course appearance is beautiful through the first 2 front holes(front nine) after that it's was a total nightmare. I'm glad we contined on with entire round otherwise we wouldn't have had any idea what the rest of the course looked like. For $50 dollars the front nine should have been a complimentary warm up round!!!!

This course has proven to be very consistent over the years. You know you're going to get a well conditioned course when you play here. The greens were in great shape.

The Course was in perfect shape. Greens rolled true, Tee boxes and fairways were in top condition. I would highly recommend this course to anyone in the area. The cart service was the best I have seen in a long time.
