This was my first time on this course and my game will have to get a lot better before I will be able to score well here. Greens, traps, fairways, and rough were in perfect condition. The course (particularly the back nine is extremely tight and unforgiving. You have to hit it straight to keep out of the trees. Snack bar had a good selection at reasonable prices, but greens fees were a little high.

This is a hard review for me, ok the course itself meaning the grounds are in perfect condition. Here is the problem, this course is thin, very thin. I would say 15/18 holes you need to hit perfect shots to avoid trees and such and I don't mean a good shot I mean a perfect shot. At times it was really bad because you hit shots that would be the nuts on other courses but here you ball is gone. Even the guy who I played with today who is a single handicap was getting pissed and even lost 6 or so balls out there. The course is hard and not fun at all. I would also say 75% of the players were seniors so it was slow. The facilities are old and run down, my bathroom is bigger than the pro shop, the help in the restaurant were slow and rude, made us wait 15 minutes for two hot dogs. Anyway like I said no knock on the landscaping just tight and very hard to keep the ball in play. Oh watch your speed I got a $90 ticket for going 16 miles over the speed limit, they are very stict and the speed limit is 25 in that town.

If you are looking to get away from DC or Virginia, try this course. Its a short and narrow course, but it has so many challenges one needs to avoid. The staff at this course makes it an outstanding place to play. Also, stop in at the 9th Deli and try some of the goodies they have.

Decent Pete Dye course in pretty good shape. Nothing spectacular but not bad by any means. A little pricey.
