Same conditions as last year except the traps seem to have a little heavier sand in them. Course gets a lot of play.

Greens are now in great shape, but the greenside traps need to be cared for by the players a lot more. Most were not raked. Some even had tracks where pull carts had been pulled through them. Fairways were generally sun-baked and hard. In many cases they were also dirt. Tees were like cement. Staff is great. Snack bar is adequate to good. $24 ti rude for seniors is a good in season rate.

Played here for the first time in a couple of years and was pleasantly surprised. They've done a lot of work - paths are mostly paved and the sprinkler heads are gone from the greens. In most places it actually looks like a golf course, not a dirt track. Still needs some work but for $17 to walk it's a good deal.

Course in terrible shape. Almost no grass, tee boxes were mud, no yard markers anywhere. Not sure why they were even open. They should close for the winter if they aren't going to invest anything in maintaining the course. Waste of time & money. Probably in better shape in-season but I'm not going back.

Course is greatly improved since I played it two years ago. Greens are in great shape except for the sprinkler heads as mentioned before. Fairways and rough are improved but there is a lot of winter tree damage from the winter that they are currntly cleaning up. Course length is short (6061 from the tips) but it is a good warmup course for long irons and pitch shots. Greens fees are excellent at $24 for 18 with a cart. Microwave sandwiches at a minimal snack bar. I'll be going back soon to check out tree damage cleanup.

Played Gunpowder on Friday Morning. Price is great at $20.00 to walk and play all day. Course is fairly challenging with elevation changes and blind shots. This course gets a lot of play and at times you will get groups of 5. There are no rangers so can be slow at times. The greens are in better than average shape. Fairways are playable but not a lot of grass in some places. Not the worst place I have played and the staff is very friendly.

One of the more unusual course conditions I have ever played in. The fairways were a disaster, almost no grass whatsoever. The greens would have been almost perfect if not for the sprinkler head sitting in the middle of each green. Sand traps were fair to good but the tees were bare dirt. There was no snack cart or marshalls and we had a fivesome in front of us that were not letting anyone through. No water on the course. The rates were good ($28 with cart). I don't recommend this course anytime in the near future.
