Course is in good shape. 1st time playing Poolesville, but others in my group told me that the greens are in the best shape they've ever seen. Course plays long, but is very forgiving. Great opportunity for a tune-up round. Plus, open grill at the turn is incredible --- best fixin's bar ever!

Course is in great condition for any time of the year. Greens were fast but true with few if any visible ball marks. Rough was thick and full. The only drawback is the lack of a full scale snack bar. Clubhouse personnel were grilling hamburgers and hot dogs as part of the greens fee. A very enjoyable morning.

Got invited to play the course with a few friends. They had talked about what a great value it was. $30 with cart after 2 pm and $40 with a cart any other time. The course was in great shape. It reminded me of an old time golf course. If you are looking for a course with value this is a place to try. Beware though the clubhouse is something to be desired but the staff was very pleasant.

It was $20 after 4. The course played average. It was kinda slow. We got to 15 at 8pm and there was still 20 min. of sun and the starter came out to the course and made us come in. I have never had that happen. For $20, hey..why not.

A very simple, straight forward course, the condition was average, nothing too bad but not overly lush either, my only real complaint is about the lack of grill/concessions, they have a very limited outside area for this and were out of hot dogs when we made the turn, I don't really know how they let that happen?

Long, open course in Poolesville, MD. Relaxing round on a straightforward course out in the country. Check it out if you want to hammer away. Pace can be slow on the weekends...

As one guy in my foursome said, a Montgomery county res, "don't tell your friends about this golf course, we don't want this secret out". A great course tuck away in Poolesville MD.

Poolesville is in outstanding shape! We played a little over a four hour round, which was very impressive for a weekend tee time.

Nice, long tract located way out there in Montgomery County. Course is in great shape early this season, maybe the best I've ever seen it. Rough can be thick at times, but all tee boxes, fairways and greens are well-maintained. Pace of play got us finished in about 4:30 on a Saturday. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Course is in very good shape. Greens are consistently fast. Traps have good sand in them and are well tended. Fairways and rough are well tended with very few burn out spots. We had an internet special that included lunch (excellent pork bar-b-q sandwich) for only $25.

Considering the drought, this course is in amazing shape. There are a couple of dry spots in the frwys, but the greens are super!!! Friendly starter, too. ;)

Due to the heat the rough is dried out but the tall heather is attractive. The fairways and greens are in good condition. The new 19th hole hospitality tent is wonderful on a nice summer day. The best bargain in town.

Course was generally good, fairways green but hard. Sand bunkers in good shape. Greens very smooth and slow. Rough and surrounding areas dried out and very hard. Reservoir ponds and water hole very low due to lack of rain.
Don't rely on the jiffy john at hole 13, it is a disaster. Go to bathroom after the 9th hole. The water cans were not replaced until 9:30-10:00 am so take your own water.

The course was in good condition. The friendly staff let 2 foursomes tee off in front of us, even though they had only reserved one tee time. I guess it wouldn't have mattered if I wasn't in the first group that got delayed. All in all a pretty good value.

Poolesville is a relatively long and open course, playing over 6800 from the tips. It can be challenging however, evidenced by it's slope of 71.6 on a par 71. The course is under new management and they are doing a great job of having the course in mid-summer shape this early. The fairways are in great shape with very limited divots. The greens, having recovered nicely from aeration, are smooth, but slow. Pretty sweet on the wallet too. You can't be riding 18 for $30 on a Saturday afternoon. Also had a nice top-flite ball special going on, 2 15 packs of balls for $20...and my buddy Mike Bergamini needed every one. Make sure you remember your bug spray though, it's always a little buggy out there.
