Haven't played this course in 10-12 years. Met a friend (course located halfway between us) for an afternoon tee time. Course was very green. Tee boxes and fairways a tad long, but certainly playable. The rough was thick and long, so stay out of it. Bunkers were exceptional--nice, fluffy sand. The greens were in great shape and extremely fast--a lot of pin placements a couple strides off the edges, and the quickness ran the ball off the green. The course is short (6162 from the tips), but no pushover. Lots of sloped fairways to catch the ball and take it to one side or the other...and often to the rough. Only have one complaint--5.5 hours on a Saturday afternoon is unacceptable. There was no reason (or excuse) for the slow play and for the lack of marshalls. When you pay $59 for an afternoon (non-twilight), you expect to get the full 18 in. We only had 10 minutes of daylight to spare.

The grass around the greens is a joke, all burnt out. You end up chipping from dirt basically.

Caught am early round and had a nice break from the heat and humidity. Course is in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all in excellent condition. Greens were hard and fast, but that was to be expected. Overall a great round and we finished in right under 4 hours; not bad for a foursome of hackers.

Fairways and rough are in excellent shape. Greens had just been aerated, so they were a little bumpy. Traps were excellent with good sand. Layout is straight forward with only one forced carry (over water). Staff and snack bar are excellent. As an aside, early morning traffic from Baltimore is horrendous.

Course is still in good shape in spite of obviously heavy play. Fairways showing some thin spots. Greens have a lot of unrepaired ball marks and are a little thin in some places. Staff and snack bar are fantastic. Still one of my favorite places to play.

Course is in good condition overall. Some fairways and greens are a little thin, but traps, rough, and tee boxes are excellent. Great snack bar. Course lives up to the high standards of quality that all Montgomery County public coursed seem to adhere to.

Falls Road was in good shape. The greens showed the effects of the drought, but otherwise the course was in good condition. Gas and golf index carpooling from Arlington was $31

Overall, course is in great shape. Several greens, particularly on the front nine are in the process of being repaired from some sort of grass disease, but are still usable. Fairways and rough are in perfect conditions. Good snack bar and excellent staff overall.

first time I played the Falls Road but I really liked it. Very playable for ability's. The course was in good shape considering the heat. The greens were a little rough but not too bad. It's not a long course but it is fun and the staff is nice.

There can be no doubt that Falls Road has solidified its place among the area's most prestigious courses. Unfortunately, it is often overshadowed by its exclusive neighbors (Congressional Blue and Burning Tree). Don't let the yardage fool you; Falls plays a lot longer than you would expect. In my day, I've seen more than a few scratch golfers leave Falls with broken clubs and bruised egos. Locally, rumors have been circulating that Bob Estes and Tom Lehman are working in conjuncture with the United States Golf Association to eventually bring the US Open to Falls Road. While I cannot confirm these with any certainty, it speaks volumes as to the status of this hidden gem. It is a must-play course for any serious golfer looking for a true challenge.

After 5 days of rain course is still in excellent condition. Grounds crew had raked up the sand traps and there were no marks on greens or fairways. Snack bar has excellent selection of items. Course is busy but pace is good.

Despite teeing off at before 8am, the course was already backed up and the marshal was m.i.a. The course in general was in good shape, but the greens were incredibly slow and patchy on a few holes. The tee boxes had been moved up and the course was set up to score well.

Course is still coming in but fairways and traps are in great condition for March. Greens are good except for numerous unrepaired ball marks. Staff is friendly and helpful although course still doesn't open up until 9:00 (Monday). Good snack bar. March prices are a good deal.

Unlike most other courses, they charge extra for an optional cart. However, the course is very walkable.

We had a nice round and everything went well. The grill at the turn was great, and they put out a good hamburger. We regularly saw the snack cart.

Course is still in good condition although greens are beginning to show some small brown spots and rough near cart paths is beginning to some wear. Sill a good course and a fun round.

Course is in great shape. Greens and fairways are excellent. Rough in good but a little long in places because of the recent rains and inability to mow. Traps are wet but no standing water and grounds crews were actively "fluffing" them up.

Falls Road golf course was in pretty good shape given the recent weather conditions and the amount of use this course gets. I'm not sure why the green fees are higher than the other Montgomery County courses. But, it's a good course if you care to walk. It's not a particularly long course but it hase wide forgiving fairways. The hot dog we got at the turn was way better than the length of time it took to get it.

I find Falls Road to be one of the more consistently well maintained courses in the region. You can find faster greens elsewhere, but Falls Road is a reliably above average course with reasonable rates.
