Mixed reviews for Cross Creek. The staff was honest when we called and told us "the greens look bad, but they are rolling true." That was a very honest and accurate statement--and we appreciated the honesty, so we decided to play anyway. The greens do look bad, but they are rolling true. The fairways have mixed reviews in that some were in really good shape, and others had patches of dirt and some very deep unrepaired divots. The bunkers had sand in them, but they had small pebbles in most of the traps. Hole #13 which was a par 4 is now cut down to a par 3, probably because it runs adjacent to the new Inter-County Connector Toll Road. (A few errant balls off those back tees could land in a windshield.) Unfortunately, this puts six par 3's on the course and chops the par from 70 to 69. However, the layout is narrow, most fairways are tree lined, and is definitely target golf. It is a challenge and will have you using most of the clubs in your bag. The staff is nice and the food is excellent. For $52 on a Saturday morning, it's a tad overpriced (worth maybe $40-$45) but the pace of play was 4 hours and it will give you a workout. I've never been a huge fan, but did enjoy the round today with good pace, decent conditions, great friends, and good food.
