Course overall in good shape. Beautiful fairways (except for #9 is really chewed up with huge, deep divots) and greens rolling really fast, which is the norm for this course. As I've said before, I still hate #7...it just is a funky hole. From the back tees, it's reasonable, but not from the forward tees when you use an 8 or 9 iron to tee off and then a 5 or 3 wood to get over the pond! Other than that, the course is in great shape. We played in a little over 4 hrs today.

My annual stop at Greystone. With the Tee Time Book, $49. The course overall was in good shape with fairways green and nicely cut, and the greens rolling nicely. (There was a bunch of tree "junk" on a lot of the greens and fairways--too much on the greens to pick up or brush off with a towel...just this time of year, I guess.) Be aware (and prepared) for #7. I hate this hole anyway, but now even more. After talking with the marshall, it appears the pond sprang a leak over the winter and had to be fixed. In so doing, the left-hand "fairway" is now LONG rough (over 5" above my ankle) and there is apparently no intention to mow this area this year...trying to help the rooting process. The issue, though, is there are no designated drop areas, so you end up hacking your way out of that "hay field." I would think they would want to keep golfers out of there, but I guess not! Just take your ESC and drive past it. Once the tree pollen and other blooming residue is over, the course will be in great shape.

Municipal golf courses are like toll bridges. They use your tax dollars to build them then increase the tolls in perpetuity. A great gig if you can get away with it. And they have.
Course is in very good condition. Lots of staff everywhere. Maybe too many staff.
An oddity we noticed is that you can't take carts to the parking lot. No one offered to come and pick us up with our clubs either. No big deal.
Great practice area. Except, you must hit off the plastic mats during the week. Really.
It's a good play. Tough but fun.

Let me just say...Greystone is not one of my favorites. There are several holes which just don't make sense to me, i.e., #5, #7, the green on #9, and #10. But, having said that, the course is in really good shape. The fairways and bunkers are superior to some other area public courses. They had people out there filling divots on tees and in fairways (which we, golfers, should be filling) so they are paying attention and taking care of this course. The greens were rolling nicely, but were bumpy and lumpy in places. The pace of play was good as well and the marshalls were patrolling and timing to ensure no stoppage or slow downs. Even though not a favorite, with 2 over on the back (38) I guess I'll have to swallow my pride and try it again! Great deal with the Tee Time Book at $29. And, we had lunch after the round...good food and reasonably priced. They are doing some work in the restaurant area, so not much A/C, but we sat out on the porch and there was a nice breeze and beautiful vista views of the course. Overall, a good day. Greystone has their act together!!

Hadn't been to Greystone in a couple of years and decided to try it out. Had the place to ourselves on a hot July Sunday. Course is in decent shape but not quite a premium experience. Greens a little slow, some fringe areas burned out. Fairways were better, but a little long in places. It is of course a great layout with a lot of interesting holes. Great service, free range balls, grass range and chipping green - these extras made it worth the price. Just wish the conditions were a little better. Good, but not quite top drawer.

Course is in great shape. Greens are fast but more true than they have been in the past. Traps are deep and numerous but have playable sand. Fairways and rough are much improved ffrom last year. Still a little pricey fro the area but well worth it in my opinion. Excellent snack bar grill.

As reported in earlier reviews, course is getting beat up badly. There are numerous unrepaired divots on all fairways. Where there are no divots the fairways are lush, full, and well cut. Tees and rough are excellent. Greens again have MANY unrepaired ball marks. I repaired about 5 on each green and didn't make a dent in the damage. Other than the ball marks greens are excellent. Good sand in the traps. The course is closed tomorrow for aeration, so maybe some of the ball marks will be filled in then. Staff is excellent and there is and excellent, reasonably priced, grill/snack bar. Cart girl was out twice and marshall went by twice during my early morning round.

Played during 1st twilight, so was a pretty good deal. Also, my son played, and juniors are only $19 on weekdays. Outstanding layout, very difficult, including thick rough. Greens are generally marked up and don't appear perfect, but they roll pretty well and are pretty consistent. For the money, I think it's the best test in the area.

My review is not going to be much different than the I remember 5 years ago this course got a lot better and became one of the best around. Two years ago they took out the GPS, never really fixed the driving range and raised rates??? The course is in decent shape but way too many divots some we saw were 2-3 inches deep, looked like someone took a shovel to it not a club. The greens are very bad, ball marks all over the place and bump after bumps it makes putting an uninvited challenge. Funny thing is this is the second Baltimore County course in a week (Rocky Point) where the course was hacked up from bad/lazy golfers. Baltimore County needs to spend some of that money they are making and fix their courses before it gets really out of hand. My pace of play was good but I also teed off very very early.

Staff is very friendly, excellent practice facilty although the range balls are like hitting rocks. The layout of this golf course is great rolling hills, challenging holes. 7-8-9 great stretch of holes! The negatives the greens are dreadful inconsistent speed and very bumpy. The pace of play is slow 5 hour rounds are the norm and lots of hackers tearing up the course. No dress code either, won't be entertaining any clients here.

As I have posted before, Greystone is a great Golf expierience. Conditions were great, although the green's were slow. Practice Area is as good as any Golf Course I have ever played. Rough's were very penal, Front 9 plays as tough as any around with #9 as maybe one of the toughest Par 4's you will find. BCG has a real Gem here.

All aspect of the course are in very good shape. Some of the best sand I've played out of all year. Greens are fast but true. Senior tee time rate on Monday and Tuesday is a good deal. Other rates may be a little high, but course is worth it. Excellent snack bar.

Greystone is a very nice course. Fairways are in pretty good shape but, the winter divots have not recovered fully. The rough is super thick in some areas and struggling in others but good. Greens are nice with tough pin placements in our rotation today. The traps are everywhere you will want to be and very deep. Very nice tee boxes. Disappointed there was no GPS. No. 17 fairway was having drains installed in the fairway (not told or listed on website).
I liked greystone. I would recommend.
It's not that nice.
I will not pay $78.00 to play on the weekend. Baltimore County has about 60 different prices to extract as much cash from you as possible. C'mon Man...

First, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We had the first twilight tee time to make sure we could get in 18 before dark. The price of $42 with cart is very reasonable considering the condition of this course. Fairways are in great shape and the bunkers had fluffy, white sand. The starter warned us that the greens were lightning fast and always make sure you land below the hole - he wasn't kidding. The greens were in great shape for the most part. We finished 18 in 4 hours and 10 minutes and only waited a few times because the group ahead of us. I was happy to see a ranger a couple of times to keep the pace moving. You also get a free bag of range balls with your greens fees. Overall, one of the best values out there.

Greystone is a very challenging track. Greens are very fast and highly contoured. Course is in overall good shape. Greens and traps are perfect. Fairways have a lot of unrepaired divots. Greens fees are a little pricey for the course location, but excellent snack bar is moderately priced. Fun course to play if your are not overly concerned about your score.

Greystone was in very nice shape, one of the better public courses in the Baltimore area. Weekend golf is $78 or $72 with a players card. The pace was decent for a Saturday 4:15. They have a fine pro shop and snack bar as well. The only problem is they took the GPS out of the carts. This is a must have at this course. They raised their prices as well this year. I would figure they would lower them since they devalued part of the play. Anyway other then the GPS it is a fine course

Greystone is a great layout, nice range and practice area always well maintained, nice clubhouse/pro shop and GPS. The only complaint I ever have about the place is the pricing(this is the end of December and they are charging $42 for twilight?? come on man).I play a lot of winter golf and most all places in the area are 25$ to $30.Peak summer rates here reach almost $80....which is one reason why my play here will be limited.Hopefully someone will read this and consider dropping their rates,I do enjoy the golf course.

Greens, rough, and traps in great shape. Some fairways are a little patchy. Grass replacing former divots appears to be a different type than the rest of the fairway. Staff is excellent. Good Snack bar.

The course appeared to me to be a lot easier then the slope indicated. The course does not play long, and only as a few tight holes. The slopes in the greens do make you think more about your approach. The greens were a little furry, not running the speed I would have hoped for such a touted course. Based on the layout, I would recommend a round up there.

The course has a great layout but is having some troubles with their greens. This course is usually one of the best in MD and I'm sure they are working around the clock to get the greens back up to par. Once the greens come back, this course will be awesome again and a must play. The staff was very friendly.

Greystone Golf Course was in really good condition. For a reasonable fee, we got to play a course with many challenging golf holes with a good practice/warm-up facility. The grass was green and the rough was THICK... Probably due to lot's of rain in the previous week. It has hilly terrain but not many blind shots. The staff were helpful and informative. We had a very enjoyable round. It is worth the drive to White Hall, MD. Enjoy.

One of Maryland's top five daily-fee courses did not disappoint. The greens were in great shape however I would have like to see them faster. The fairways, rough and tee boxes were near perfect. Although the conditions were great, I was a little disappointed with the staff. On hole 15 the ranger came over and told us we were 7 minutes behind pace and we need to pick up our play. I'm sure he is doing his job, but not only was there no one behind us, but we had to wait on most of the tee boxes. The ranger then followed us for the next hole just to make sure we were keeping pace. Other than that the my turkey club at the turn was tasty, the cart girl came by at least 4 times, and guys did a good job cleaning my clubs after my round.

This course looks better in January then most places looked all year long. There are a couple bunkers under repair but no big deal, I can't wait to play in the spring/summer. Oh the greens are slow there right now so for those of you who play Graystone you know that is a good thing

It was too cold to play at my CC this Sunday because of the wind coming off the water so I returned to Greystone a place that has been perfect all year. It seems like everytime I go back the course is in better shape. Now since it is the end of the season they are fixing a few traps but no big deal just gives me something to look forward to in April 08. Too bad old man winter is here I would love to play Greystone a couple more times.
