Overall good conditions. They have recently filled in bunkers and regraded #1 fairway, should be a welcome change once everything grows in for the first 4 holes is as tough a start to a round that you'll find anywhere. Some areas around the edges are in need of work but overall a great day

First visit to Blue Mash this year...I like this course. The fairways were in great shape overall--although some had large divots, mostly inside 100 yards where you couldn't take the cart (thus, not carrying the divot mix). The rough was really rough! It was thick and long, so best to hit the fairways. I'm mixed on the greens...they were REALLY fast (the starter warned us), which I actually like; however, some of the greens were thin in places and looked like mold was trying to take hold. It didn't take away from putting--just didn't look that good. The crew was out mowing all over the course, and I had seen them rolling the #18 green when I drove in. With a GolfNow.com coupon, it was $69, which wasn't bad. My only gripe is one I have had over my last couple of visits--the help in the grill seems very overwhelmed and just can't handle the volume. We went in for food after our round and they couldn't bring all of it out at the same time, nor did they wait the tables to take the order--we had to leave the table to go place our order at the bar. They seemed frazzled, confused, and disorganized. We had to even go up to the bar to remind them they didn't bring everyone's lunch. Won't patronize the grill in the future...will drive down the street to Olney Ale House instead.

Had a prepaid special of $44 on a Friday morning, which was a great deal. They had a lot of rain overnight, so some bunkers were being pumped out and the fairways were extremely wet, so it was cart path only. Even with that, the course was in excellent shape. The tee boxes were lush and beautiful, the fairways were in great shape and thick as carpet (although some spots were very wet), and the greens were excellent. I only saw one green which had some dirt marks/tracks; but, the greens were quick and true--very playable and fair. We finished in 3.5 hrs and then headed to Olney Ale House for lunch. The staff was very personable and welcoming. The starter actually came into the parking lot when we finished and inquired how our round was...just checking in. Very nice and thoughtful. I like the layout of the course, and it has a variety of holes and required shots. The course seems to always be in good shape.

The course was in great shape, but sometimes more importantly the staff was more than accommodating. We teed off at 9:40, and right off the first tee the group in front of us were playing super slow, we notified the ranger at the end of the first hole and he was right on top of it. The ranger spoke with them and we never had a problem for the rest of the 9. At the turn it started to rain, after speaking with the staff, they told us a storm was coming and it did not look like the rain would let up. We threw our clubs in the car went back up to the pro shop and since we weren't from the area they gave us a refund for the back 9. I have been rained out many times and always received rain checks, which usually went unused. You can tell the staff at Blue Mash truly understands the importance of customer relationships.

Now on to the course, first they have a HUGE grass range which is always a plus, a large chipping area and nice putting green. The first three holes are long Par 4's. Holes 2 and 3 share a fairway so off the tee there is a lot of room to work with. Hole #4 is a straight forward Par 3, and then after that the course gets a lot shorter, there are few Par 4's that are actually reachable from the tee. The greens were in great shape, they rolled true, and there were relatively no unfixed divots (which is uncommon for a public course). The fairways were in pretty good shape, but definitely had signs of heavy play and the tee boxes were in ok shape also the result of heavy play. At the end of the day only playing 9 worked out ok for me because I got a great Kosher hot dog from the restaurant and got home early.

I've given this course a 5 overall because their customer service warrants a little positive "bump". They had made a mistake on their greens fees listed on their web site so the round was going to cost about $15 more per person than we expected. When I pointed it out, they apologized, granted us the lower rate, threw in free golf carts and a bucket of balls for each player. That is the exact opposite of what most courses would do. I was bowled over and definitely will be back, even at the full rate.

The course is a challenge. Do not expect to pull out your driver on every par 4 and 5. On a couple of par 5's, I chose a 5-iron (my 200-yard club) to good effect. Also, since the course is relatively short, I almost decided to play the blue tees. That would have been a big mistake. The white tees are plenty challenging - check the slope ratings.

The greens were faster than what we are used to and bring your best green-reading skills to the course as there are plenty of subtle undulations.

To top of a great round, it was great to see that they have Stella Artois on tap. Mmmmmm.

Have played the course several times this spring. Too many outings and other conflicts. No one rakes traps or fixes divots. No senior rate. Course is too crowded and no Marshall to oversee slow play. Pack too many in and course is not in good shape. Hampshire Greens is better value.

First time at Blue Mash this year, and the course was in great shape. The greens were the best...good speed, and no dirt spots or damage, even around the edges. Bunkers had good sand, at least those I was in. Fairways, also, in good shape, albeit some of them a little long. (They were mowing when we were there.) Only #18 had any dirt patches in the fairway, so overall fairways in good shape. Staff was nice and even got us out a little early. My only complaint is that trying to get food on the turn was difficult. Don't know if the help was overwhelmed or new, but they couldn't seem to handle too many things coming at them. Manager ended up bringing our food out to us when we were in the middle of #10 fairway. All in all, the course is in great shape. This is a really nice tract with a nice blend of wide fairways, and risk/reward holes. Some of the holes are deceiving, and can be "sneaky tough" requiring target golf. Rough was long and combined with the native grasses...just stay in the fairway. Raspberry Trail has done a good job with bringing this course back up to its high standards.

Course in gettng back in shape. Still in winter conditions, but fairways and greens are in good shape with several unfilled divots in the fairways. Traps are excellent and appeared to be well tended. Tees are being selectively reworked for the spring. Course has a special rate until the end of February, You pay the winter rate of $49 or the temperature when you sign in. I paid $32 and then waited out a one hour frost delay. Go early and eat breakfast. Staff is excellent.

The good news--the staff was great from the Pro Shop to the Starter to the Marshalls. Everyone was nice and making people feel welcomed and valued. The other good news is Blue Mash is a great layout with a nice balance of risk and reward holes. Now the bad news--I have never seen the course in this bad of a shape. The fairways had patches of dirt, had not been mowed in over a week (like playing in some courses' rough), and had lots of unrepaired divots. The greens were also a bit long, slow, and similarly with unrepaired ball marks. And, this was only the front!! I was so dissatisfied with the conditions, I decided I'd try the course another time. It was also a bit slow...and some of that was due to our pairing (by hole #3, we were already talking about needing to pick up the pace). I'm really surprised and a bit disappointed at course conditions. I like this course, though, and will come back in the Spring when I know they will have it back in good shape.

This is one of my favorite courses in the area but you never know if you are going to be playing a 4.5 hour round or 5.5 hour round. The course is in great shape but continues to play very slow. You would think at some point they would bring someone in who could manage this place.

Played my last round of 2011 at one of my favorites. Blue Mash gets a lot of play, but the greens were still in fantastic condition. Fairways were a little soggy in places, but I love the fact that they let you walk the course and even give you a small discount on the greens fee. It's a very easy course to walk, so that's a no-brainer on a day when carts have to stay on the paths. My only complaint with this course is you can occasionally have a slow round - they were a little backed up because of a frost delay in the morning.

50 degree day in December --- perfect opportunity to get in the last round of the year. Blue Mash is a phenomenal course. I didn't have the chance to play during peak season, but it's in great shape nonetheless. Particularly cool is the "temperature rate" that they are offering for greens fees --- whatever the temperature is outside when you pay, that's the price for your round (including cart). Crazy to think that I paid $34 dollars --- it was very chilly at the range and practice green --- but late morning & early afternoon sunshine made for an awesome day on the course. Overally, really enjoyed my experience. Practice facilities are great and the lunch at the turn was delicious. Probably not getting back out there in 2011, but can't wait to check it out in the New Year.

Blue Mash is in great shape. As soon as you step out of your car you see a beautiful sea of green fairways. The course seemed to play very long (played the 6500+ blues but seemed like almost 7,000). The pace of play was not bad but then again my other two times 6:30, & 5:45 rounds so 4:45 seemed fast and it was on a very nice Sunday. I will say the food was over priced, I thought I was at a ball game or something.

Factoring out the amount of rain during the week, the course was still in pretty bad shape. There were large dirt patches in many of the fairways and it was extremely wet (I thought it would have drained better). We waited on every hole, and I didn't see a marshall all day. For the condition of the course and the length of play, it was over priced. It's typically a well kept course, but I will wait until later in the year to return.

Despite this course playing extremely difficult today with winds north of 20mph, I was once again impressed with the overall condition of the course. Fairways were in great shape, the rough was cut to a fair height, and the bunkers had obviously been freshly groomed. I do have to complain a bit about the greens though - speed was inconsistent (mostly slow), pin placement was comical, and their overall condition could be described as shaggy. I did score a tremendous rate off of GolfNow.com ($59), but the standard weekend rate of $89 is a bit high in my opinion. Regardless, I'm sure I'll find my way back here again this season...

Had an 8:00 tee time and the course was packed because of July 4th weekend. We went off as scheduled and pace was ideal throughout the entire round. Course is in excellent condition and designed to make you be think before every shot. Greens are like ice. Wind can be a major factor throughout the Back 9. The restaurant was great, but the fact that they had a grill for burgers and dogs made it even better. Overall a phenomenal golf experience and I will definite revisit.

Course was in overall great condition. Fairways, tees and rough were some of the best that I have played on in the last four or five months. Greens were also great except for the many ball marks golfers have left. I was repairing four or five marks on every green. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Price was a little steep but course layout and condition were worth it.

Wow, the first five holes are hard and long. 6500 yards in length from the blue tees (1st set in from the tips). The course was in pretty good condition considering the drought. However, you can really tell that the drought has taken a toll on the ponds and lakes at the course. The greens are unbelievably difficult and in excellent shape. Blue Mash is definitely one of Montgomery County's finest.
