NEW NAME: FANTASY VALLEY. Not as nice as its sister course, Lodestone, but playable. For the $39 special rate we received, it was a fair deal. Pro's: fairways were in good shape, bunkers had good sand, and the greens were simpler to read and putt on. Con's: they changed some of the holes so make sure you update your GPS or you won't have the correct information (which I didn't), the front nine is choppy with extremely narrow fairways and ponds on two holes which challenge club selection and course management, and this is a par 71/70 (5 par 3's for back tees and 6 par 3's for forward...who has 6 par 3's????) I did not like the front nine because of narrow fairways, unpredictable bounces (typically into the woods when you hit the fairway), and choppy layout; however, the back nine was much more reasonable in terms of layout. Not one I would play again, although some people seemed to like it.

This was my first time at this course and I thought it was a gorgeous layout. It is a mountain course with a lot of views as well as sloping fairways and fair but hard toread greens. It is a difficult track as evidenced by the rating and slope from the white tees (72.1/138). Course is in immaculate condition, however. Staff is excellent, particularly Joe, the starter. The only two drawbacks for me are; 1) the driving distance from Baltimore and 2) the cost of the greens fees and the snack bar. In spite of thise two personnal drawbacks, I will be back.

They have a brand new back nine which is absolutely beautiful!. The front is average, but the course is very tricky. You'll have a par 5, 500 yards straight up the mountain making it play like 700 yards. There aren't any flat holes, either extremely uphill or downhill. Definitely worth playing if your out that way. Driving range is junk, good food at the turn, and the people and staff are overly friendly.

The course was beautiful, and the water was warm. I was swimming all day! God, I hate this game...The snack shop was the best east of the Mississippi. Frozen Snicker bars, and corn dogs. Who can ask for more? The pro shop guys were very friendly, even to me (I am extremely loud and vulgar).
