Glade Valley was running an NFL special...$25 w/cart! Great deal, but as a consequence the course was packed and moving pretty slowly. (Thus, the 4 stars vs. 5.) Luckily, though, our tee time was after the rain stopped, so we didn't get wet, and the sun actually came out in the early afternoon. The course was in great shape--I haven't played it for several years. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough all in excellent shape. The greens, too, were in great shape, albeit a little long but understandable with the couple of days of rain. Even with all the rain overnight, the fairways were amazingly dry. The only really wet fairway was #10--all others only had small puddles here and there, and some were completely dry. The bunkers were in great shape, as well. It looks like extra sand was recently added, so they were pretty fluffy. I only saw standing water on #1 in bunkers. Very nice staff and they were marshaling all afternoon--nice to see. Glade Valley is not difficult, but will challenge you to work the ball to place it in the correct position for following shots. Always a nice course to play--you won't be disappointed with the conditions.
