$51 rack rate on a Saturday morning. I really like this course...beautiful vistas, nice variety of hole layout (risk/reward and scoring holes), and the course is always in great shape. They did an overlay project on their cart paths, and also added some rock formations and landscaping mostly on the front (#4 down the hill and approaching the green rock formation was beautiful, but can send your ball sailing if you go too far right and hit it). The rough was filled in and a tad long, and the fairways were in good shape, although I did notice some patches of clover and/or crabgrass cropping up (only on a couple of holes). The greens were very nice, rolling true and in great shape with hardly any ball marks. My one complaint was pace of play. Right on the back of their scorecard in capital letters it states: Playing time for 18-hole round should be FOUR HOURS or less. Well, that didn't happen...was 5 hours, and didn't need to be that long. On the turn, we hit a wall and there were 3 groups on each of the par 3's, and 2-3 groups on each of the other holes. I saw a marshal on the front, but never on the back. I never saw a hole open in front of us--only behind us--so not sure what the problem was, but they definitely need to marshal and move groups along to stick to their own rules of FOUR HOURS. It's a 1 hr. 20 min. drive for me, so I'm not sure I'll go back any time soon, even though I do like this course. I can stay more local with the same slow play issues.

Course is in excellent shape. Fairways and rough are lush and well groomed. Greens have no blemishes and are medium fast but true. Traps have true sand although a bit heavy. Good snack bar with large selection and great service. This was my first time playing here and I will go back again.

Overall a nice municipal course.
Tee boxes have some wear and humps. Fairways are good with weeds creeping into the un-repaired divots. Greens are a fair slow to medium roll, with lots and lots of ball marks and foot dragging marks. Rough is dense but cut short, which is a good thing. Typical summer brown areas from either too much heat or too much standing water.
Pro shop had a nice gentlemen working the desk. Snack bar was deserted.
They will cut grass around you while you are teeing off. There are a few short doglegs and tree blocked fairways that are fun to play grip it and rip it.
This time of year will test any courses maintenance crews. The course is nothing special but I liked the course and would recommend and will play again.

Course is in good shape...fairways, greens, and especially the bunkers with what looks like new sand in the majority of the traps. Tee boxes were a little long, and the rough was very long--had to hack out of it and sometimes pretty difficult to find the ball as it would settle down and not be visible. But overall, the course in pretty good shape. They marshall this course very well, so it does move. Beautiful Saturday morning and not too busy with great views of the Western MD mountains. With a rack rate of $49 w/cart on a Saturday morning, this is a very good deal. About 1 hr. 20 mins. from the Baltimore area, but worth the drive for a good rate and not overbooked w/players. Staff very welcoming, as well.

After reading the last 5-star review of this course I decided to check it out for myself, not having played here for 5 years or so. While I can't quite bring myself to give it 5 stars, the course is in good shape. Greens were a little grainy, putts tended to break sharply as they slowed down - took a little getting used to. Fairways are in very good shape, but tee boxes had a lot of divots and had some crabgrass in places. It would be nice if they moved the tees some but it looks like they have limited options as several holes have only one usable tee box.

This is a course for scoring well. One reason is that the posted yardage on several holes (from the white tees) is incorrect. Both par-5's on the front nine, listed 465 and 471, actually play about 420, and the par-5 16th also plays shorter than the posted yardage. Course has generous fairways and the rough was not very thick today.

Excellent pace of play, a 4 hour round, course marshals made their presence known. Cart girl unfortunately did not until we were finishing the 15th hole, too late to do us any good.

The course is in great shape. After a lot of rain over the weekend, the fairways were pretty dry and the ball actually bounced (not plugging). The fairways had just been cut, and they were like carpet--nice and full and green. The rough was thick and difficult, often adding strokes. Tee boxes and greens also were in excellent shape. The greens were rolling nicely--a little slower than I remember, but still pretty good. My only complaint were the bunkers--they needed to be raked. After the rain over the weekend, they were still wet, some had standing water, and the edges were eroded. Staff was very nice and helpful, and the price was reasonable. This is a great course, some challenging holes, a few elevation changes, and some small greens to hit. It's only an hour from Baltimore in Hagerstown.

I haven't played this course in several years, so wanted to try it again. It was in great shape--the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were completely green with little to no bare spots. It was nicely manicured and the rough could be challenging, but not overly so. We played on a Tuesday morning and played in a little over 4 hours (which could have been quicker except for the twosome we were paired with). Friendly staff, marshalls patrolling regularly, and the course in great shape. If I would provide any criticism, it would be the bunkers needed to be raked. They were hard and packed, but there had been a rain the night before. Definitely worth the trip to Hagerstown and a bargain at under $60 for a twoseome (with Tee Time book).

I really liked this course. The tee boxes were in good shape, the fairway is great and rough was not so high that you have to search 5 minutes for your ball. It is a challenging course with some water holes and a good amount of bunkers. They did not have a cart girl on this day but said they usually do have one.

Loved the greens, they were super fast and rolled true. The fairways were in pretty good shape, which is typical for this time of the year. The course is not too difficult as most of the holes are pretty straight forward. The course is about 6200 yards.
