I played in a best ball tournament which benefited a local baseball organization. I have to say though I will never play here again. When the course was built in the late 1980's all of the greens were small and crowned,a few have been rebuilt but the remaining greens need a makeover. Numerous blind shots are plentiful. Course plays very short with a par 4 and par 5 that forces you to lay up with a mid iron. There are just too many nice courses to travel out of my way to play here

I've played this course many times, I can say that the current owners have made improvements but this course still needs a overhaul. They have reshaped about 7 of the 18 Greens from the original design but the crowned Greens that remain are a joke. You really can't hit driver except for 3 of the Par 5's and 1 Par 4.45 $ for this course is a joke...it's worth 25 $ to 30 $ at most.I would recommend this course for beginners, women, seniors and hackers

Blustery today--steady 20mph winds! But, the course is in great shape for so early in the season. Green and beautiful for as far as you can see. Greens are recovering from aeration and are a little long, so a tad slow. Bunkers were a bit wet from the overnight rain, and had some pebbles in them. Fairways were in pretty good shape overall. The rough had not been cut and was long and brutal...so stay out of it. This is not a long course--5945 at the tips--but it is challenging from all the tees, and not a flat lie anywhere! Don't underestimate this course--it will clean your clock. Nice staff, course not very busy (we never saw anyone ahead or behind us all round), and with the Tee Time Book only $33 on a weekend after 11:00. Give it a try.

It was difficult to evaluate the course since only 9 holes were open and there was still patches of snow on the open fairways and greens. It looks like the course will be in excellent condition next spring however. The fairways and greens look great. They are currently using temporary tees so my guess is that the normal tees will be in great shape by next spring. Traps appear to be cleaned up with no stones (although they were frozen today). Current weekday rate is $20 for everyone with a cart. Snack bar is closed but it was excellent the last time I was there wheni t was open.

Haven't played here for about 6 years...it was still Bear Creek the last time I was here. Kudos to the folks who have invested some money. They have invested in some new cart paths, fencing, stairs to tee boxes, and the patio block retaining walls at #9 and #18 greens. Really improves the aesthetics as well as the play (since you don't have to risk the high weeds surrounding those greens). Even the fairways were in good shape, although they had some tall strands of straw/grass the mower didn't catch and a hole/divot here and there, but were mostly green. The greens are the greens--crowned and a bit on the quick side. You just have to know what you're dealing with on these greens. The course is in much better shape than I anticipated. My only complaint were the bunkers--mostly hard and full of stones. As they continue to work on this course, I'm sure that's on the list for repairs. Not an long course (5945 from the tips), but there isn't a flat lie anywhere on this course, so take your patience with you. With the Tee Time Book on a weekend it was $32--a good deal.

I figured it was time to make my yearly stop at Westminster National, as in the past not much has changed. I'm going to stop complaining about the green's because if it wasnt for those crowned greens this course would be a complete pushover. It's still a very short, easy golf course at a pretty good price. Definately not a course for me, but very good for beginners, seniors, juniors and hackers

Course is in good shape overall, with the exception of two temporary problems. The cart path is being relaid on three holes and they will be closed for the next couple of days. All holes are using temporary tees while the regular tees are under preparation for the coming season. These problems are temporary in nature and should be cleared up in the next week or two. Fairways are good but a grass is a little sparse on a couple of holes. Greens are excellent. Traps have new "sugar" sand and are easy to play out of. Snack bar is open. I like the layout of this course as it has a lot of interesting hills and some blind shots.

There was one only person working at the clubhouse when we arrived. Not a very friendly chap taking greens fees $ 33.00 on this Monday. Snack shop was closed 8:40 am, locked no lights on no food or drink. Carts were filthy. Tee boxes are crowned and shabby. A group in front of us had there cart roll over on number 7. Be warned, this is a very steep course in some areas. Traps are brown construction sand and hard. Greens are crowned, slow and bumpy. No ranger or starter. 11:00 am, make the turn the same guy from the front desk has to come up to the snack bar. Forget about getting something other than a candy bar of bottled sodas.
Fairways are nice.
I haven't played here in about 10 years. I will probably wait another 10 before I come back again.

Early morning tee time can finished before noon --- clocked in at just under 4:30, and our foursome played somewhat slow. Some of the tee boxes have seen better days, but the fairways are solid and the greens are in excellent shape. Under $50 on a weekend --- probably one of the best value-plays in the region!

Went to National golf course @ Westminster for the first time. Have to admit, great course. Great elevation changes, gorgeous fairways, and the staff was great. My son & I got in 18 on a sat. morning in 3.5 hours. Course and fellow golfers played fast. Approach shots are tough to stick on the green, but shot an 86 while smuggling with my drives that day. Will return again and again.

Plyed Westminster National For the first time and was very impressed. Staff was great, let us out 20 min early. Teeboxes in good shape .Fairways very nice. Greens excellent. Course layout is very nice but a lot of elevation changes. Course is very hilly so I would not recommend walking. Paid $48.00 on Sunday morning. Played round in a little less than 4 hours. We really enjoyed this course.

Great course value! Nothing overly special as far as conditions, but for a public course on the weekend, it exceeded my expectations. We played a four hour round, and paid $48. The course makes you use all of your clubs, and has a lot of elevation changes. It was one of the only courses that had tee times available for mid morning on Saturday with perfect weather. Definitely check this course out!

Course was in really good shape. It's always been a favorite of mine. We played at 10am on a Saturday, course was crowded, but we were still able to play in 4 hours. Snack bars great, rangers were present throughout the course. Will definitely be back throughout the summer.

Free yardage books at Westminster National? Really?? Wow, this course sure has come a long way from how I remember it back in the Bear Creek days. This course is a must play. A lot of renovations have been made to this course, including reconstructed greens on 9 & 18. For $32 w/ cart during the week, the price is unbeatable. Snack bar is great, overall conditions were great, besides for the numerous rain-soaked sand traps. However, given the amount of recent rainfall in the area the past couple days, this was understandable. I can't wait to play this course again!

Tee'd off a little before 10:00 and couldn't have asked for a better day. Starter was nice enough to ask the 12-person group ahead to let us play-through, so my 2-some didn't get held up on a single hole. Finished the round in under 4 hours. Course is in excellent condition. Greens are near perfect; played a little slow, but that's related to all the humidity. Great food at the turn. Definitely plan on revisiting soon.

I've been playing this course all summer and have watched it improve its greens and fairways steadily. The greens are well placed and holed often enough to challenge steady patrons. I enjoy playing this course even though it is not my home course, but I will continue to play here for many years to come.

weekend rate, $42, most greens great shape, shaded ones a bit thin. A difficult course to bang around, but if you like shot making, it's great. Only a few blind greens due to elevation, enjoyable, laid back. A good, but fair test of your skills. Lot's of doglegs, use the yardage book if you haven't played. Will play again!

Westminster National (formally Bear Creek) has taken some big strides over the past six months to improve the playability of their course. The greens for both hole 9 and 18 have been re-engineered to prevent good shots from rolling in to the water. The course was in good condition. the fairways were in great condition and the majority of the greens were stellar. I truly believe that this course is going to steadily improve as the year goes on.

Just to let you know Westminster National Golf Course is now reopened (formerly Bear Creek). And if you could please change the prices to $30.00 on the weekday with a cart and $42.00 on the weekend with a cart. Then on the weekends after 2pm we go back to our $30.00 rate. Also our senior rate is Monday-Thursday and is $26.00 with a cart

Just to let everyone know Bear Creek has been sold the new name of the course will be Westminster National. The new owners are reducing the price for greens fees and making course improvements to greens and tees. Look for a big change around number 9 and 18 green this year. And look for more improvements in the up coming years. The Course will reopen March 1

Corse was in surprisingly good condition considering it was late in August when most courses were becoming burnt out. Bear Creek is an excellent, but extemely challending course. Concessions were above average, though the golf carts need a little more power at times when climbing the huge hills at this course.
