Tee Time Book has a special--4 players on Saturday before Noon for $64/player (vs. $79 rack rate). That is a deal for this course! Course, as usual, in excellent condition. Fairways are lush and perfectly mowed, the bunkers are nice thick sand (don't have to worry about hitting hard pan underneath), and the greens are fast and nicely manicured. For a Saturday morning, I was surprised how nice the pace of play was--we finished in about 4 hrs. 20 mins. This course requires some course management, strategic shots, and hitting the fairways. Select the proper tees as the sloping fairways, deep rough, and fast undulating greens will give you all you can handle. Excellent condition and a must play!

Waverly Woods has a number of challenging holes so you need to be on top of your game and keep the ball in the fairway. Course overall was in good shape. I hadn't played the course in about 3 years and can't wait to get back. Played 18 in close to 4 hours with the groups in front of us maintaining a good pace. Greens were firm but a little bumpy but that's to be expected at this time of the year. Staff was friendly. Beer was cold and the burger hot. Can highly recommend. Grass range also! More than worth the drive.

One of my favorites, they have added a large bermuda grass range tee and enclosed the back of the clubhouse. Course was in exceptional shape all the way around,I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that they recently aerated and topdressed greens, tees and approaches

Course condition was good. The layout is a little quirky. I thought it was a nice course, but a bit over priced at $79 on a weekend.

Took the advice of the previous review. Course was very nice throughout.
We did experience a lot of work being done on the course back nine. Vertical cutting the fairways and blowers etc. everywhere.
Great choice. Will play again soon if possible.

Today was light showers and misting most of the day, but it was relatively warm, so we played. The course was amazingly dry! I didn't see any standing water in any of the fairways...they were a little soggy, but that was to be expected. The fact there was no standing water in either the fairways or bunkers is amazing given the rain over the weekend and most of today. This course is always in excellent shape...from tee boxes to greens. The fairways were thick, lush and green...like hitting off fluffy carpet. The greens were a nice pace even wet--so I can only assume they would have been fast in dry conditions. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Waverly Woods is always in superb shape and in a great location. It's a nice layout with some challenging holes (environmental carries) and easy holes which are certainly birdieable. If you haven't played Waverly Woods, treat yourself. And, remember...this course is part of the Raspberry Trail program and you can gain points for playing. Ask in the pro shop.

Quite possibly the best run golf course in the area. The management understands what golfers care about, a great conditioned course, quick play and great food at the turn. The course is in great shape, the greens are almost fully healed from aeration, and the fairways are in great shape.

Course is in immaculate shape. Easily one one of the best maintained courses in Maryland. Staff were friendly, cart girl attentive, great practice facilities (complimentary range balls included with wknd rate). Pace of play on a Sunday early afternoon was four hours. Greens were recently rolled and fast, tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. Treat yourself to a perfect round of golf at Waverly Woods!

I really enjoy this course and it is in great shape but 79$ for November 2 is a bit much. They just did small tine aeration to the greens but with the top dressing they were running fairly smooth and at a good speed. Pace of play was an issue, I will give the marshals credit though, they were constantly on the group in front of us the entire round. Hats off to the Superintendent and staff for some great conditions.

Found out today, if you book online you get $5 off, not too bad with the $10 you get back if you finish in under 4:20. Course still in great shape, plays quick and great staff.

Another great Saturday morning round at Waverly. If you are looking for a solid course, always in good condition and a quick pace Waverly is your place. Finished on a Saturday morning in 3:45, its quickly becoming my go to weekend course.

First time playing Waverly Woods and was very pleasantly surprised by both the course conditions and the overall facility. They have a grass driving range and a bucket of balls were included in the Sunday morning greens fees. I believe if you play before noon on Saturday or Sunday the range balls are included. When we paid our greens fees we were told that if you finish within 4 hours and 20 minutes they will give you $10 back. This is a first heard for me, and you better bet we finished under the limit. When we arrived back in the pro shop they were happy to hand us $10 cash. So the round instead of costing $84 only cost us $74. Overall the course was in great shape, the tee boxes were well manicured, the fairways were perfect and the greens rolled true. The layout has a mixture of different holes which makes you use all the clubs in your bag.

Course is in overall good winter condition. Fairways are excellent but tees need some work before spring. They are being selectively worked on now. Some greens will need to be worked on before spring. Most are in good shape but several have bare spots. Greens are very fast with a lot of sloping putts. Traps are excellent, even under winter conditions. Snack bar is open with and excellent winter menu. Rate special of a dollar per degree of outside temperature or standard off season rate, whichever is lower is an excellent deal if you don't mind cold weather starts.

Course is in great shape. Greens are fast with many nuiances, but definitely puttable as long as you have a light touch. Bunkers and tee boxes also in good shape. The fairways, for the most part, were also in good shape. There were a couple which had some dirt spots, but it wasn't too bad. They always have this course in good shape. One comment--they had recently aerated the rough on the back nine, but stay in the smooth fairways and it won't be a problem. With the Tee Time Book, it was $44.

They were aerating the greens while we were there, so they of course were bumpy and sandy. The tee boxes and bunkers were in good shape, and the fairways were mixed...some in great shape, but many having large unrepaired divots and somewhat wet. It was cart path only until #16 when they came out to tell us we could ride on the fairways. This course is normallly $59 during the weekday, but I had a coupon for $160 for four ($40/each). Paying $59 for this course in its current condition is overpriced, but for $40 it was fair. I do like the layout of this course, but it's not in as good a shape as I have seen in past years. There was crabgrass in some fairways and approaching the greens, and some burned out/brown spots around some of the greens. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this course, but would suggest you look for discounts or coupons.

Back again a little over 1 year later, I can't figure out why I only play here 1-2 times a year, because I love to play this golf course. Great winter conditions, Greens were actually pretty smooth and quick, all Bentgrass is dormant right now but still a very nice surface to play off of.They definately need to replace the Range mats, it was mats only and these mats are harder than concrete, other than that, another great round of golf at Waverly Woods

Really nice course with plenty of room to miss on most tee shots. Tee boxes and greens were a little rough, but not bad considering the time of year. Pretty pricey, but an enjoyable round. Skeleton kitchen, only offering hotdogs for now.

Definitely an interesting and challenging track. Too many sidehill/downhill lies for my taste though, I think I had one flat lie in the fairway all day. Also not a great value, many courses in the area are comparable for less money.

This was my first experience at Waverly Woods after playing it once about fifteen years earlier. It was nicer than I had remembered. The staff was excellent, the conditions were good, and the course was a nice mix of easy to challenging. Most of the fairways were wider and more forgiving than I remembered. There are a few holes that are definite scoring opportunities, but several holes are quite challenging. The greens and fairways were in pretty good shape, and have healed from aeration. My only complaint would be that there wasn't a beverage cart, but it was a weekday. Overall, it was a nice golf experience, and probably comparable or slightly better than Diamond Ridge, Woodlands, and Timbers at Troy (for this region).

A great layout and the staff is great but they recently punched the greens and did not offer a price reduction. Putts bounced around a lot so scores suffered. Still A fun track. Cart Girl was around twice per 9 which was nice. I would give it a week to 2 before playing again.

Course is in good condition but showing signs of heavy usage. Greens have numerous ball marks and fairways have numerous divot marks. Tees, traps, and rough are in excellent condition. A little pricey at $51 (with tax) from the Tee Time book, but a challenging track. Small snack bar has a good selection of food.

This is a nice course at a good value. I saw alot of sand today. Unfortunately, the sand traps are not well maintained. It actually made it easier to get the ball out of the sand but then it really is not a sand shot.
