First round at Rocky Point this year. Very good shape...tee boxes, fairways, rough, and greens all green and filled in. #18 green looked like it had been aerated recently, but all other greens were filled in and rolling true...faster than normal. The rough was thick and punishing...they were mowing the rough while we were there. Front nine hardly any air moving; however, the back nine had a nice breeze coming off the water--these are really some scenic views on #10, #11, and #13. (Love to have a home on the #10 green...but glad they are keeping it as a golf course.) Congrats to the Super for keeping this course in great shape. Not overly challenging, but a nice course to work on your distances and any "troubled" clubs.

Reviews really aren't relevant during winter months, but I would say conditions today were good considering everything.I expected soaking wet conditions and it was nothing like that, wet spots were isolated. It was just to get out.

Course was in relatively good shape, Greens, Fairways,Tees and Roughs were full, Greens were slow but that is the norm around here.My biggest beef is with the starter/marshalls, I counted 5 Twosomes in front of us playing alone, pace was ridiculously slow and the only time I saw a marshall was on 9 Tee and he was bullshitting with a group on 18, I'll be back because it's convenient and close but i'm sure they will lose some business after yesterday.

Some greens are recovering from aeration quicker than others. All greens were very bumpy, however. Fairways & tees ok. Some bare patches around the greens esp
between the traps. They were sending all groups off the back 9. The front fairways were treated with some chemical that is harmful to humans so it was cart path only. We need some warm weather to let this course fill in

Greens just punched last week, and rolled a couple of days ago. The holes filled with sand still prevelant and, as a result, greens very bumpy. Some of the fairways had not been mowed, but they were working on them. Fairways starting to green up, but still in somewhat winter shape. Bunkers had fresh sand and nice to play out of. Played in 4.5 hours walking, and as a single got me out quickly.

Very green...#15 just aerated, though. Rough a bit long and hard to "hack" out of. Tee boxes and bunkers in good shape. Greens also filled in and green, but a tad long and, thus, slower. But, Rocky Point is always in great shape--kudos to the staff. Finished in 4.5 hours. Beautiful day for golf, on a nice course.

Fairways in good shape, but rough is showing some wear...and burned out sections. Tee boxes and greens recently aerated, but on their way back. Bunkers in great shape. Still like this course, especially the views on #10 and #11, and so do others it appears. The pace of play was painful--over 5 hours! With all due respect, if you can't hit it more than 50 yards off the tee, maybe you should move forward! And, if you are in the trees and the hazards on almost all holes (and it takes you 20 minutes to move from the tee box to your 3rd shot on a par 5), maybe you need some lessons and play executive courses until you can hold your own. I'm all for people playing on a course, but holding up five groups behind you (which is what I could actually see) is unacceptable. We called the pro shop on #15...according to the round tracker on the cart we should have been done! I really like this course and the staff, but may stay away from the weekends for a while.

Been playing rocky since mid 80's and boy has it changed. Nothing but good things to say from staff to marshalls to course conditioning. Yes the course is a touch boring ( front nine ) but you can get back strokes on back with two reachabtle par 5's. In the lasty ten rounds (weekday afternoons) we've never played in over 4:10. That's remarkable considering I playmt. Pleasant twice a week and 5 hour rounds are common. Don't know about pace of play on weekends but I remember in late 80's on a Sunday taking 2 hours to reach 6th tee and there was two groups on tee box. Ranger was an Ahole and we left. Hopefully it plays fast as it does during the week. One of my favorites.

Scheduled to play Mt. Pleasant, but storm downed trees on main road to get into the course and around the course so it was closed. Called Rocky Point and they fit us in. Main thing I want to say is we tee'd off at 8:04 on a Saturday morning and was done in 4 hrs. 20 mins. Course is still in great shape and pace of play was excellent.

The conditions overall are pretty good except for the greens. Due to ignorant golfers there are so many ball marks on almost every green that makes putting very hard and amounts to a poor score and quite a few unfixed divots on the back nine as well. Something seriously needs to be done to fix this problem because the rest of the place is in great shape. They have all these marshals sitting around on the course having conversations under trees with each other and waiting to jump on you for the slightest thing, maybe they should break up the huddle and go watch people coming off greens and tell them what respectful golfers do and fix their ball marks on the greens.

Played for $39 with advantage card. Greens have filled in since aeration but were really bumpy & hard. You could not putt a ball without it bouncing along. Fairways kinda sparse in places. Worst condition we have seen RP in a while. Needs some rain & the greens rolled for starters

The course looks like it was recently aerated but in better condition than all other recently aerated courses I have seen. This was my first time back since last year when I had an unfortunate incident with the golf pro. It seems like word got around quick about the rude staff because they we all super friendly today, however I did not see Jeff (the pro) there. The one thing that I enjoyed was how far the tee boxes were pushed back. This was the first time I could ever remember the blues being pushed all the way back. Anyway it is nice if you enjoy a nice long playing course. I do believe Wednesday is seniors day on play late otherwise it will be very slow play. Anyway I always give credit when it is do and I will say the course is in good shape and the staff this time was very friendly.

After all the rain overnight, Rocky Point was wet but not muddy and only minor standing water in a couple of low areas in the fairway. Even the bunkers were dry--no standing water that we could see. Plenty of grass in the fairway, so even if the fairway was wet most of the water was draining or obsorbed within the grass. We walked for $30 (w/Advantage Card) and finished in 4 hours. My only complaint is there was a lot of goose droppings, but that was it. Nice staff and, again, Jeff Bell (Head Pro) was very welcoming.

Very nice job by the staff at Rocky Point, Divots on Tee Boxes were filled,Tee markers were moved, cups were changed and no standing water in the bunkers.Let's not get too carried away with all this great conditioning I keep reading about, Rocky Point is your typical run of the mill Muni Golf.Very slow long rounds in the summer, always overwatered in the heat of summer just to keep fairways, tees and greens alive. Not a bad beginners course but not for the avid golfer looking for a challenge.I only play here for a last option and because it's close.

Unbelievable!!! I wasn't expecting too much since it is January; however, the course was in 10 times better shape than Un. of MD (which I played 3 days earlier) and was almost totally green! The fairways had beautiful lush green grass (not even any dormant grass). The tee boxes were in excellent shape. The bunkers had fine white sand. And the greens were completely green and fast! On the turn, I even told the Head Golf Pro what excellent shape the course was in. The staff is always wonderful at Rocky Point also, especially Jeff Bell, the Head Golf Pro. We walked for $24 (my friend for $19 since she has an Advantage Card) and it was a great round. Rocky Point is a nice layout, and they truly keep this course in great condition. Holes #10 and #11 run along the river, and #14 is beside a waterway and opposite the state park. The views are beautiful, and this course is a must play any time of year.

The course was in very good shape, with extremely green fairways for this time of year. The greens were good, with just a little bumpiness from fall aerification. The staff was both attentive and friendly. The water views alone are worth the price; the good conditions were icing on the cake.

Ok the course is good the price is good but also comes with a nasty price. I have played this course for years and I have always dealt with the less then friendly staff there and I'm not talking about one or two times but many times. This course will have a ranger on you for spitting on the ground but today was the final straw there. Two of us were playing behind 4 guys I have no problem waiting when I go to a busy course and not having 4 guys. This group would wait for the others to reach the green to tee off at hole 6 we are on the box and have 2 foursomes waiting behind us so I reported them. The ranger came out said something but nothing was done so we skipped a hole. Then the pro at rocky came over to us on ten and was like what are you doing passing them? I was like are you serious? Anyway this is pretty standard if you ask me you know skip a hole whatever. Anyway i told him I did not have time to play a 6 hour round. Well I told him it would be the last time he saw me and I told him it is for the better because he is one of the rudest people I have ever met and has no business running a golf course and I'm sure if you know him you will agree.

Beautiful Friday for golf. Course is in excellent condition --- only complaint is that the greens seemed a little thick and ran slow, but that's a good problem to have this early in the year. Overall greens look to be in excellent shape for the entire season.
The real treat to this course is the Back 9 with more than half the holes located bordering Hawk Cove of the Chesapeake Bay. This afternoon the wind off the cove was intense --- turned one Par 3 into a 5-iron (from a 8-iron) and had to you Driver on the other Par 3 --- very challenging, but very fun.

Best thing is that our 3:00 tee time was only $29 (with the county course card/pass), and we finished in under 4 hours. Can't wait to take advantage of Rocky Point again soon.

Course was generally in good condition. Greens had just be treated with granular chemical, but otherwise in excellent shape. Fairways and rough were good. Course had an email early bird special of $28 dollars that was not honored. Had to pay $31 plus an additional $5 because a tee time was established, even though the course was essentially empty at 6:00 AM. Apparently that is a standard for all Baltimore County courses. Each year this course gets a little better. It is a little easier then its sisters, Diamond Ridge and Woodlands and more of a challenge then Longview. The rough was quite thick and a little long, but with all the rain we've had, What do you expect. The fairways were a pleasure, and the greens were above average. Only suggestion, take better care of the sand traps. Of course if I stayed out of them it would not be a problem.
Some of the views, especially around 10 and 11 are really first class.
Keep up the good work.

Having played this course on a weekly basis for the past 3 years I can tell you that it's in the best shape i've ever seen. The tee boxes were lush and short, the greens were flawless and have recovered from aeration 100%. My first knock on the course is the fairways. Not that they aren't in good shape, becuase they are in very nice shape, it's just that on some holes the fairway is clearly defined and on others you can't tell the fairway from the rough. Speaking of the rough, on most holes you want to avoid it at all costs! Today it was thick and had attitude. My only other knock is slow play. I didn't see a Ranger at all today. This is a problem that has plagued this course for years. They have managed to get a few good Rangers who keep you on your toes, just today they must have been off duty. Overall I would say go play this course and don't think twice about it. A few of the holes are along the Bay and offer great scenery, just allow a little more than 4 1/2 hours just in case.

I have played at this course on numerous occasions. I love it. Holes 10 and 11 are unbelievable. It's like you're playing at a totally different golf course. The rest of the course is just alright. Fairways were a little overgrown toward the end of the summer, but I'd imagine, come early Spring this course should be back in tip-top shape. This course is a great value, although the snack bar is below average
