Course has made major improvements since the last time I played here. Greens were in excellent condition. Traps had good sand that had been obviously been tended to by the grondskeepers. Fairways were good but had a minimal amount of cart damage in one or two spots. Grill is still excellent and the staff is very friendly.

Course conditions never really change here much you kind of get what you get. There are some parts of the course that are better during the Summer but the ground remains firm all year long for different reasons. The greens are in decent shape and the cost of the course is always good. Pretty decent place to play for the money just keep in mind you are surrounded by some of Baltimore's less inviting neighborhoods.

Clifton is in really good shape, the greens are really nice right now (best I have seen here). Can't say enough how Clifton is bashed for some reason but I along with a ton of other people I know who play really good courses love clifton. It is close by and the price is right and it moves quick (most of the time). I used to hate how first the fairways were but I learned to use it as a tool to pick the ball better. I don't care who long or short a course is because it is all about club selection and Clifton really lets me practice second iron shots I would not use at some longer or wider courses. Anyway this is not a course to travel to play but if your local give it a shot. I would rather spend $25 here and practice all shots then to go to a range and spend $15 to hit shots off a mat.

This is a great inexpensive course that is definitely worth playing. The fairways are pretty wide and easy to hit and the greens are not very difficult. For a city course that costs $25 (with a student players card) the greens and fairways were in great condition. Our foursome paid for 9 holes, but we were enjoying the course so much that we called the pro shop after 9 and continued to play a full 18. We paid the difference after the round. A great value and conveniently located course for someone living in the city.

Fun course. Shorter than most but challenging. Greens are getting faster and the fairways are decent. Course is dry so you get plenty of bounces since there has been no rain recently.

The course was in decent shape, it is never really in bad shape for "Clifton". They are doing some repairs to the tee boxes so everything is moved up so it played pretty short other than #10. I really like that they changed the tee box on #10 making it a little longer but straighter. Good spot to play if you work in the downtown area and feel like getting out for 18.

Clifton has stayed in pretty good shape for the entire winter. I know there are a lot of people who wont play there because of the surrounding "elements". In the 15 years or so I have been playing there I have not ever had a problem. I have seen a little trouble but nothing major. Heck I saw a guy get out of his truck one day back when Beechtree was open and steal two golf bags from the drop off area. If your in Baltimore City and need a nice playing course at a great value to play 18 check out Clifton. Some claim it is very easy like myself but that is from people who play there a dozen plus times a year. 10 and unders do have a chance to par the course but don't be shocked if you shoot high 80s either.

Fairways have suffered from the heat this summer, but greens are generally in good shape. Tees and rough are not in the best of shape but sand traps are in great shape. Starter can tend to be a little cranky but the club house snack bar is still great and there is an on course snackbar at the 9th and 16th tee location.

A very pleasant surprise! I had never played any of the Balt city courses, and I expected tight and crappy. What I got was not so tight, fair, and not so crappy. in fact, the greens were outstanding, especially for a public city course. The clubhouse is mediocre, the practice green is mediocre, the food in the kitchen portion of the clubhouse is good, the staff is nice, and the directions to the course are a little tricky if you're not a Balt city guy. I found the course to be surprisingly decent, with a few really challenging holes and quite a few scoring holes. The price was right, and the overall value makes it worth checking out.

Fairways and rough have improved since last July but still have a ways to go. Sand traps are greatly improved and greens are excellent. Snack bar is still one of the best in the area.

Greens were in excellent shape, but most greenside traps had not drained. Those that had were comosed of compacted mud. Fairways and rough were rutted in many places and had numerous "ground under repair" areas. Snack bar had a good selection of food choices. I played early but when I finished there was a large line of players waiting to tee off.

I will still hold a warm spot for Clifton Park. I grew up right up the street from the course and have played the course off and on for the past 11 years. Last time I went, the course was in better shape then recent years. Only problem was the 16th green and ant holes. Not as much trash swirling around as usual. The staff as always is pretty decent (minus the Wilford Brimley starter guy). But, I have never had to reserve a tee time and for value, it's a steal. Not long and very forgiving, check it out at least once.

I always crack jokes about this place but the fact is it is a decent place to play. Sure the ghetto is right there but for the most part it is safe. Anyway Clifton was in pretty good shape, the greens were above average for them and it is a great place to put up a low number.

Although Clifton Park does not offer an overly challenging track, the course is in excellent condition. Greens, fairways, tees, and traps are near perfect. Rough is a bit rough but then again it should be. Meatball sub after the round was also excellent. This course is a great confidence builder.

This course is starting to dry out, the rough and a lot of the surroundings are starting to turn brown. The fairways are still green and the greens are still in fairly good shape. However the grass on the greens was way too long which made them painfully slow. Clifton is a good cheap course, I hope they can hold on to it and keep it in good condition.

Got a full 18 in starting at 5pm. At a dollar per hole, this is one of the best bargains in Baltimore. Pay no attention to the flashing blue light police cameras around the neighborhood. Staff is friendly, snack bar is great, and course was wide open.

This is by far the best bargain in Maryland. The conditions were superb and for $21 (student rate) for 18 holes this deal can not be beat. The greens were pretty much perfect, the fairways on all but two holes were pretty much perfect and the tee boxes were in great condition. If you are looking for a 3.5 hour cheap round after work Clifton Park is your best bet.

Let's not get carried away Lefty. Though Clifton Park was in the best condition I have ever seen it, it is still located off North Avenue in Baltimore City. Given price, conditions, and pace of play, I would recommend this course as long as all 18 holes can be played in the daylight. This course by far blows Forest Park out of the water. It's $10 cheaper and is in much better shape. Overall, a great easy round of golf.

Clifton Park is still the best bargain around. Some tee boxes still needed to grow in a bit. The greens were still jumpy from some left over top dressing but all in all she was in good shape. Fairways were geeen. We finished in 4 1/4 hours. If you haven't played Clifton Park in a while you owe it to yourself to go back. It has come a long way.

It is what it is but for Clifton it was not bad this weekend. It looks alot better since they did some repairs but for a quick fix in the city after work or 9 if you have a long lunch hour it is not bad.

The tee box construction I mentioned in an earlier post has been completed. Four completely level tee boxes only adds to what a value this course which was already a bargain to play.

I love this course. I play there every week. I would warn others that they are are redoing some tee boxes (long over due). There are four temporary tees on the course. Outside of that, the course is great.

Stay away for a few weeks, they just punched the greens and did not do as good a Job as the crew at Mount Pleasant. Big holes, very bumpy greens.
