Got unlimited play for under $50. There are a few bare spots on the fairways, but I never found my ball in one. The greens looked a bit rough in spots, but rolled very true.

Blue Ridge Shadows was in its usual good condition, and it's an interesting track. Gas and golf index from Arlington was $42 senior, mid-week.

Five stars all around for this course. Awesome, challenging layout, the multi-tiered greens were fast and in super condition. This course make you think about each shot before you take it.

| Absolutely awesome and fun. Conditions were close to perfect, and the staff was really accommodating. They also had a food drive going on where can goods got you a discount. I think the details are on their website if it's still going on.
The first fairway is like a surrealist painting of a golf hole, it twists and drops about 40 feet to the left, and kind of lets you know that you're in for a ride.
But even with the dramatic terrain, I found the course pretty forgiving as long as you didn't hit it really sideways.
The 15th hole is awesome, it's tee box is next to the practice green, so take a look before you tee off. The 10th is also a cool par 3. Eighteen has a beautiful rock waterfall behind it, but the hole is kind of short and flat, and was a bit of a let down after a day full of ups. But that is my only complaint. I highly recommend this course. |

Let's start doing the gas and golf math for Northern Virginia Courses!??!!? We paid a greens fee with cart of $40 and figure about eight bucks apiece for petrol carpooling from Arlington...so that's a total fee of $48, which is bit pricey But, this is a fine new course and worth the drive once a year. Some of the tee boxes were a little ragged, the fairways were good, and the greens were unusually fast. If this course were closer in we'd play it more often, but then if it was closer in it wouldn't be so reasonably priced.

This Course is about a year old and its amazing. The drive from DC to Front Royal is long, but playing Blue Ridge Shadows, will place a smile on your face.

Really impressed with Blue Ridge Shadows. Greens are quick and in perfect condition, fairways perfect and tee boxes manicured. What a beautiful course, they have really done a great job making it one of the best in Northern VA.

It appears they have been watering because the fairways are in excellent shape in spite of the drought in Virginia. Best greens in Northern VA public courses. This winter should allow the rough to mature even more. We played it in April just after opening and you can see the difference in the rough after just a few months.

Greens were nicely recovered from recent aerification. You could still see the scars, but they putted great. The rest of the course was a little dry, as most are with the drought. Definitely worth the trip. Strong par 3s, 4s are no slouches either. If anyone plays here, let me know how to play the 18th. This hole SCREAMS for a rework. Still worth playing, however.
