Staff-great as always.
Pro Shop-this is a muni!
Snack cart-didn't see it, but the it was a weekday.
Etc.-JJ's was open, but I had to buy

What a great day for golf. And, we played the best muni in Northern Virginia. One of my partners remarked that the sand traps were just full of the finest sand we have ever seen on the course-probably because there have been no torrents of late. And, when we checked in with the great staff, he remarked that Herndon is our home course...and I guess he's right!

When my playing partners, who do not post on The Local Golfer, comment on the great conditions at Herndon, I take that as "give the course 5's." The rough was a bit penal, but they're just trying to make sure some of it is still around in July and August.

We keep coming back to Herndon, because it is still the best muni in Northern Virginia.

Great course. Always in good shape and easy to get on. It's a short course and the layout is nothing too fancy, but still a nice variety of holes. A very walkable course (though crossing Herndon Pkwy four times gets a little old).

The food at the clubhouse is excellent and the beer is cold and won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Greens fees aren't too bad overall, but they're excellent if you happen to be a town resident.

The best muni in Northern Virginia just got better! They now have a new cart path all the way around, and the bunkers have been filled with new sand. Greens and fairways in normal tip top condition.

Except for the 3rd and 17th fairways, which have been drenched by the recent rains, the course was in its usual excellent condition. Still the best muni in Northern Virginia.

Despite all the rain, we were lucky to score a tee time at Herndon on the Friday afternoon just after Nicole had passed. And, surprisingly, the course held up very well and was in its usual superior condition.

As the "only" reviewer of Herndon, I'm disinclined to give it all 5's this time around, because it might just turn up as the best course in Virginia...and have you looked at that list lately. Just to confirm that it's in its usual excellent condition.

I was very surprised that Herndon was in such excellent shape this early in the year. Still the best muni in Northern Virginia! Gas, toll, and golf index from Arlington was $40.

Despite the soggy fairways and some standing water on the greens, Herndon is still the best muni in Northern Virginia.

Give me another option, but I still think that Herndon is the best muni in Northern Virginia. Fairways and greens were in great condition, and, as usual, good beer and food awaited at JJ's!!!

Quite disappointing. 1) greens aerated; over-sanded (just can't figure out why courses don't knock off a few bucks while the greens are returning from aeration) 2) incredibly slow play!...my entire foursome dropped out after nine!

Herndon was in perfect shape this time around. The recent rains have made enough of difference to merit giving the course "5's" for its condition. Gas and golf index carpooling from Arlington was $37.

I fully agree with the previous reviewer. Even during the drought last summer, this course was in good condition. Much better than some of the private courses in the area. The greens keeper at Herndon does a bang up job!
Try the brisket at JJ Deli!!!

This may well be the best value and best conditioned muni in Northern Virginia. Even in the middle of a dry summer, it's always in great condition. And while you're at it, check out JJ"s Deli!!!
