Don't come to this course looking for a quality round of quality golf on a quality championship course. This course was built for purposes other than so, mostly attracting quite-less-than-scratch golfers of all ages to walk on, play 18, and feel worked-out and satisfied with their results. Most of the people that play are of older age, or are families looking for an outing with their friends or loved ones. It is very walkable and does give you a considerable workout which fails to cause any real harm to the patrons of the course. The greens are good enough (it being that the course is 18 holes, all of which are varying size-and-shape par 3's) to satisfy a very good amount of the area's golfers. The amenities are better than you would consider a tax-payer course to be. The range is marked and reliably outfitted with many mats. There is a dual practice/short game area which fails to attract an nuisance-amount of people, so that anyone needing to touch up their short game pre- or post-round can use it. The range stretches out to at least 300 yards, near-considerably downhill that very rarely does one of the people using it drive all the way to a lake-maintained road that is rarely occupied by traffic of any kind. The everybody golf school on-site is really for anybody, like it says, however, attracting the rookie golfers, rather than shaping young swings into phenoms. The prices are outstanding for the amount of golf you play and feel as if you played walking off the 18th green with a bucket of balls already hit. The most you could spend including the purchase of lower-grade golf balls, tees, and a small snack or drink is ~$40 bucks after paying for a round of 18 and a bucket. There are many options for discount, supplying elderly patrons discounts and junior golfers discounts when they become members of the junior fairfax county program, which is rather inexpensive. Although the course is nothing special to the regularly playing self-critic, many people come back for the fun you can have here with the people you play with, ranging in all ages and skills. I find myself coming back here every season multiple times, seeking a round of golf to be enjoyed for its atmosphere, rather than you beating yourself up over a few bad drives. The quality is good enough, each hole is unique, and you can't help but smile when the occasional new member of the hole-in-one club is receiving or has received a certificate and edible gifts from other patrons in recognition, me being witness to many aces achieved by my playing partners. Come here with a different attitude and those you do not have scratch-golf expectations of, and you'll have a good time. I recommend this course on the weekend if you lack company, you will not be emptying your wallet and you'll play with a great group of people.
