Aeration has really helped--course improved quite a bit over the past couple of weeks. Greens were really fast today, and the fairways are filling in nicely. Still working on some of the bunkers and some areas on fairways, but definitely improved. Was pleasantly surprised. Clubhouse pretty much closed down (except for bathrooms), but nice triple-wide trailer being installed so walkways and riding paths around clubhouse out of service. Not a big deal, though! Will be workable once installation final.

Two stars only because the layout is good. Greens recently punched, very hairy and bumpy. Dead spots in some fairways and greens, lots of poa overgrowing the rye grass, and some crabgrass as well. Bunkers are playable, but I wouldn't exactly call it sand. Tee boxes are pretty beat up.

This course could be so much better with good management and some investment. It's on a great piece of land. They recently renovated the 6th hole and the playing surface there is fantastic. It would take a lot of work to do the same for the rest of the course, but I think it could pay off big. This part of the DC area is starved for good public golf. Someone needs to step up.

Course is in better condition than last time I played (about 3 years ago), but that being said, it was no where near worth the $57.00 we paid to play. Tee boxes were beat up, fairways were patch works of different grasses (most having crabgrass and bare spots), greens were in decent shape (very slow however), and the gravel quarries, err I mean bunkers were AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was hardly any sand in the bunkers, and most were riddled with pea size gravel. No marshals to be seen to move pace of play. Staff was friendly and beverage cart was around in a timely manner. Not a terrible course (aside from the bunkers), but not sure how they can charge $57.00 to play. It would be a fair deal at 35-40.

In better shape than past few years. Rough is getting thick and penal on a lot of holes. Most greens in good shape, but a few are rough. They've cut out some trees around greens that should help.

Quick Update: In much nicer condition even from a month ago. Fairways filled in--green and lush. Greens in great shape. Overnight rain had a couple of fairways a little soggy (especially #6), but drained better than I thought. Some bunkers ponding water, but others were very dry and in great shape. Felt since I haven't been favorable in the past, had to provide an update. With Tee Time Book, only $32 w/cart.

We had a free round, so hard to rate value. Let me start with the positives: the greens were filled in and pretty fast, which surprised me (can't remember them ever being this fast); they have good sand in the bunkers on the back nine; and, have done some major repair work on cart paths. Now, the negatives: fairways are aerated and just starting to grow back in; major holes/gouges in fairways and rough; hard pan bunkers on most of front nine; and several forward tee boxes GUR (reseeding) or in bad shape. Unfortunately, the course is in the worst shape I've seen it in the many years I've been playing there. It looks like they're working on it, but simply just not worth the money. Sad...

First, the good news. Eisenhower is in the best shape I've seen it in a long time. They have obviously worked on getting this course back in a more playable condition--fairways aerated and seeded and growing back nicely; greens recently aerated, but a little long; and landscaping done with many of the weeds and brush removed from the hazards. But, the bad news...With a late tee time (after 3:15 pm) and the Pro Shop admitting we wouldn't be able to get all 18 holes in, they still charged $57 (which is their rack rate until 4:00). They advertise $57 for 18 holes w/cart, but we had no chance of getting what we paid for so why not a discounted rate. We were told either buy the Advantage Card or wait until 4:00 for the Twilight rate and play whatever we could play. All the marshalls had cleared shortly after we tee'd off, and it took us 3 hrs. to play the front 9 and by dark (4.5 hrs) we finished up on #15. Not only do you not get what you paid for, but management doesn't ensure their own advertised pace of play. Clearly, Bill Kasper Golf does not care about the golfer experience, only about the money! I played here because it was close to home--will not play again. I use to be a big supporter, but am no longer.

$35 w/Tee Time Book, so good deal. Haven't played here since May, and just don't know what to say. Fairways were green, but pretty thin and some had dirt patches. Fairways and tee boxes appeared to recently have been seeded. Greens were bumpy and long--straight putts just went offline where during season would have dropped. The good news is they have worked on some of the drainage issues, cart path curbing, and hole #6. But this course needs some TLC--it just isn't kept up like it should be...and it's a shame.

This course has gotten a lot of bad reviews here, and this review isn't going to be any better. The tee boxes are completely chewed up and the fairways are about 50% crabgrass. The greens were at least all green, but very slow. The service was pretty bad - the starter forgot about me not once but twice. At least he let me play the back nine twice because the course was packed and moving at about a 5-hour pace. I guess the course still gets plenty of play because the price is right - I paid $23 to walk after 3pm on a Sunday. At that price I guess all you can expect is 18 holes in the ground.

It's too bad because it's really a great piece of land and the layout is pretty good. With some TLC this could be a very nice course. As it is, it's pretty much a practice range, which is how I approached today's round. There's a place in the world for golf courses like this. Just get out there and tinker with your game, and keep the expectations low.

I haven't played Eisenhower since late last year--and I wished I had stayed away. This review is tough for me, because I like the staff members at Eisenhower and they always treat me right when I walk on. However, it's now April and all the work they have been doing on this course--reseeding, aeration, drainage, etc.--should have improved the conditions. Unfortunately, though, I think it's in worse shape than the last time I played it! The tee boxes had grass but hadn't been cut, the bunkers which were once nice are now dirt not sand and are hard, the fairways still have not grown back in and have a lot of dirt patches, and the greens are faster than they were but have oil stains, huge divots (like the size of a swing divot in the fairway) and dirt patches. Even the rough had huge holes. I couldn't figure out whether the fairways or the rough was the best--they both had dirt patches, hardpan, and bad lies. Paying $31 to walk on a weekday is way overpriced for the conditions of this course. It's time to invest some major money in this course or shut it down.

What a warm and beautiful day--had to get out and play. Walked onto Eisenhower, and got right out. Played in less than 3.5 hours. After last night's rain, the course was wet and muddy in places, but playable. The bunkers are in great shape, as well as the tee boxes. However, the greens and fairways need some work. #6, #10, #16, and approach shot on #14 very soft and muddy. You can see they have seeded--new grass growing--but it's going to be a long Winter trying to get it in shape for Spring. At $26 w/Tee Time Book, it's still a deal. You just have to have realistic expectations.

With the Tee Time or Waggle Books, $26 with cart. I've read the reviews on this course, and can't really disagree. The course was in pretty bad shape with dirt patches in fairways and on greens. The traps had lots of sand so weren't bad, and maintenance was sowing seed on fairways and rough and working on some of the wet areas while I was there. This course is wet even in dry conditions, but after September's rains it has not faired well. But, the staff is always nice and I often go down as a single walk-on and they always get me out. I don't expect much for the conditions and just use the course to work on my mechanics. If you want a resort golf experience, stay away. However, if you want a relaxing day to hit balls out on a course (vs driving range), Eisenhower is not a bad choice, especially during the week.

Course is not as bad as others I've seen in the area but is still not up to the standards of most local courses. Several fairways were rutted from maintenance equipment. Several greens had oil leak streaks again from maintenance equipment. Tees have been replanted and should come in in a couple of weeks. Most traps drained well from recent excessive rains although one or two held water. Staff was very accdomodating and friendly. Snack bar is good.

We've had some rain the past couple days, so the course is soaking wet. The grass is recovering from the summer, but still patchy in places. The greens are ok, but wet and bumpy. Fairways mixed cultivated and non cultivated grasses and lots of mud. The teeing ground is shaggy with newly planted grass that is 2+ inches in many areas and aerification holes that are recent. Paid $36+ even with their advantage card, and didn't feel it was worth it.

i think this course is way overpriced for the current condition. $56 for dirt/muddy tee boxes (only a few had grass on them), fairways/rough/sandtraps were ok, but a few were in rough shape. Most of the greens were terrible, patches of crab grass, non fixed divots, and a few had horrible attempts to repair either mower damage or something. Starter was very helpful with course knowledge on a few holes, pretty much only bright spot.

What a shame. The potential of this course is tremendous, but the way it is maintained is atrocious. The condition of this course makes you wonder if the superintendent knows absolutely anything about his profession... or if there is a proper superintendent at all. Virtually every green displayed the aftermath of a leaking greens mower. Multiple, attempted stripe patches across the green. Tee boxes are essentially dirt/mud with weeds. Certain fairways are in a little better shape... but they look like they've been mowed with a bush hog... not a proper fairway mower with reels. The terrain, maturity of the trees and layout could make this a nice little course if someone knew how, had the money or interest to actually take care of it.

I could not believe the condition this course was in. The tee boxes were no more than compacted sand with weed sprouts. You are rewarded by hitting into the fairway with a lie on either dirt or 3" high unmowed grass. The greens have 4-6 strips taken out of every green, you are better off making a 2 put max rule and just picking up. I paid for 18 and left after the 9th hole because I just wanted to get out of there. I will never return.

I don't think that the course is being kept up as well as it has in the past several years. The tees needed to be mowed, and the bunkers needed to be raked. As often is the case, the fairways and greens were so wet, some greens would squish as you walked across them.

I was surprised to pay $40 to walk in February at this course. The 15th green had ice covering the back half of the green and standing water around the hole, and the 4th pin was iced into the hole so you couldn't get it out. Lots of other holes were iced, so the pins didn't sit into them. The greens are brown and the fairways were a mixture of grass, mud, and casual water. Bunkers were not raked and the pin positions were the same ones from January 4th. I'll porbably try to play at a different course if I can get out again before April.

I did not find course in as bad of shape as previous writeups indicated. Greens and traps were in good condition. Fairways were OK with a minimal amount of crabgrass on several fairways. Tees were being reseeded so they were essentially mud, but golfers were warned of this at check in. There was a lot of standing water on course due to heavy rain yesterday afternoon. This is the worst I've seen Ike in the 4+ years I've played it as my "home" course. The last month of dry weather and probably the shake up due to the loss of staff (county immigration bust) were too much for it, I suspect. There is a lot of crabgrass and dirt spots on the tees and even on the greens. Fairways are a mixture of crabgrass and turf.

We walked at the twilight rate of $21. Current conditions are good. Greens are good, fairways good, and the rough is as good as it gets at this course. Bunkers as usual are not perfect, but they are in fair shape. We played 12 holes, but could have played all 18 before dark if we didn't have other commitments. I consider this my home course. It is relatively inexpensive and its generally in good shape. The tee boxes are usually not in the best shape (shaggy early and late and very hard and on some holes very little grass in the middle of the season). The fairways are in very good shape for most of the year, but when it gets really dry toward the end of the summer they get some crabgrass. The greens are in good shape most of the time. The course sees a lot of traffic, and there are a good number of high handicappers, so play can get slow at popular hours of play, and there are a fair number of ball marks on the green and unraked bunkers oftentimes. Low-lying areas are waterlogged in the spring and after heavy rains. Still, I like the course and I think it is a good value.

Typical for this time of year. Greens are in good shape the rest of the course is average. Greens roll fastest this time of year here.

this course was in very good condition. The greens were perfect. The fairways were as good as you can get for this early in the season. The tee boxes could use a little work but for the most part were in pretty good shape.

Beautiful course in Anne Arundel county. The greens were in outstanding condition, not one blemish on any of the 18 holes. Open fairways are very forgiving to imperfect tee shots. Would defintely play again!

This is my favorite course in the Annapolis area, but it is in relatively rough shape right now. The fairways are looking good, and a lot of the greens are ok, but there are a lot with patches of dirt too. They were aerated several weeks ago, and the aeration holes are growing in, but make for a rough surface. The greens are a bit faster than they have been most of the summer, but still slower and softer than other more expensive courses in the area (South River, Renditions). The tees have lots of weeds and dirt and some are so hard, you can't find a place to put your tee in without breaking it.

In general I recommend this course. It has a good setup, is walkable, and fair. The fairways are wide and more forgivable than courses found in developments. There are a lot of woods, but there are also a lot of areas that you can play out of them, which allows for some errant tee shots.

There is little if any ranger managing pace of play on most days, especially during the week, and the rounds can get in the 4.5-5 hour range especially in the afternoon. The staff is generally nice, but one starter is always a bit gruff. The cart vendor is available most days and there is a decent snack shop for snacks and hot items. They will often set up a grill outside on the weekends and for outings.
