I've played both, east and west. The East course is definitely better than the West course. They both are pretty much wide open and can't get in much trouble. Greens were just OK and some of the fairways are not so good. For the money it's an OK course. Food is less than desirable.

Briarwood East course.
Overall conditions are OK. Tee boxes except for one or two are in great shape and should be because they are new. They use a wide blade grass on the tees, it's a little different to hit off of but, seems very durable. Fairways were fair with dead areas here and there. Greens looked great from a distance. Until you get close and realize they sprayed them with the green fert. spray. Greens are a little beat up from excess play. Only one had large dead spots. They hold and roll well except the bumpy spots.
Not great today. But, I like the course because it is a confidence builder and the rates are very good. This track gets more play than most courses get in a season and they work to keep it in playable condition. Nice pro shop and restaurant attached. I will play again.

Played Briarwood East course.
Not a lot of trouble on the course. Elevation changes and wavy greens even things out a bit. The new tee boxes are very nice. Some new traps as well.
Greens were sandy and hard but not super fast. Fairways are ok.
Lots of construction going on while trying to play. Contractors parking tractors on the cart path while taking a break forced us to drive over freshly laid sod to move around. New cart paths in some areas. Much of the newly sodded areas are soft. Be gentle on them.
The clubhouse is stocked like a pawn shop on the Vegas strip. They have a lot of everything.
Staff seems to have been working there a little bit too long.
I say "hooray" for Briarwood putting money back in the course to improve the conditions. For this you should give it a try. I will play again.
Pray for rain or there will be a lot of dead sod come August.

The course was in great shape. The rough was not very high and balls just off the fairway were easy to find. Yardage markers are easy to find but ugly to look at. The lack of a cart girl was disappointing but the small clubhouse was well stocked. I look forward to playting again when it is not so windy.

Played the west course. Used Victory Tee Book $25.00 for the round. Tee boxes were in great shape as were the fairways Greens were in great shape for being so early in the year. Only down side was many dandelions in the rough. So don't use a yellow ball if you can't keep it in the fairway. Very nice girl in the clubhouse/snackbar. We had the course to ourselves. Well worth the drive up from the Bel Air area of MD.
