Sorry to say I came back to play this place again, after not playing it for several years. I believe it was a round in 2013. In any case, nothing has changed. It's still overrated and overpriced. This is a 'municipal' golf course. It gets over 45,000 rounds of play per year. If you do the math that averages one four-some every 8 minutes all day long, 365 days a year. It is not an overly long course, not even 6000 yards but it's tight. It would be much more enjoyable if a round didn't take over 5 hours to play. I played on the front nine (an it was 2.6 hours) so I called it.

The fairways were in great shape, but the greens were surprisingly slow. In the past, the attraction was very fast, true greens. This time they were slow and grainy. Take that away, and the 5-hour round just isn't worth the money. And it's like that every day. Also, as with the attitude of the course, the staff are not much better. The customer service is below standards as they cater to "the masses". Individual golfers, trying to enjoy a round played with the proper pace and etiquette would be best advised to play elsewhere.

The is one of the most overrated golf courses in Central PA. I don't recommend it! Not well maintained except for Hole #1 which faces the road that you drive past so you think the entire course looks like that. It doesn't! The greens have more undulations than a miniature golf course. It's way, way, way overpriced when it's in season. Around 5500 yards but it can take 5 hours to play because it is poorly managed.

Friendly people, nice course to play. As a beginner, I like the ease of the course

Yes, Armitage is a nice course. But after the way I was treated when trying to a book a tee time for this weekend, I will never play there again. I know it can get busy there and move pretty slow sometimes, so I asked how far apart their tee-times were, just curious about how busy I could expect it to be. The reply I got (in a huffy voice) was "I have no idea, but I am pretty busy right now, buddy, I gotta go." Buddy? Really? The staff at Armitage need to get over themselves. There are much nicer courses in the area, especially for the cost, and I promise that all will treat you better than Armitage.

I play this golf course at least once a week. The course is relatively short but the lack of precise golf shots will get you in trouble and cost you strokes. The course is wooded making shot placement a must. Several of the par-4 holes are reachable with your driver; however, a slight miscalculation can turn your thoughts of eagle/birdie to into hopes for par/bogey. The rate for 18 holes ranges from $22-40 w/cart. Specials and discounts are available as well. The restaurant is known for its wings, but has a full menu including snacks, sandwiches, salads, and dinners. You can dine inside or outside on the deck in a family-friendly atmosphere. It makes a great 19th hole!

I played this course a lot as a kid growing up but haven't played it in at least 10 years. Thankfully it was still in great shape as I remembered it as a kid. It is a very short golf course but it is tight and it puts a premium on placement. The prices are cheap for food and beer and the people are friendly. It's worth the money to play. Keep in mind you won't really need a driver for more than 2 or 3 holes.
