| Great value. It's a state park course, but don't let that discourage you. The design is classic, with some interesting twists and great use of the land. Greens were in really good shape, as were the fairways. The holes were fair, but challenging. And while the greens did not have some of the tricked up type of mounds and humps that you see in modern courses, there were a few holes where your position on the green was critical. Subtle use of gravity in the design made it imperative that you be below the hole on some of the greens. I went there as a single, early on a Saturday morning, had no trouble getting paired up with someone, and the pace of play was really good for a weekend morning. I agree with the other reviewer that to play a Robert Trent Jones Course for under $50 is an incredible bargain. If I'm ever back in the area (I'm from Texas) I would gladly return to this course. |
