Course has gon downhill since the last time I played it. Fairways are thin and tees are pretty well beat up. Greens have a lot of bare spots, though they are rolled well and putts do run true. Traps appear to have good sand but hard to tell after heavy rains last night. They do appear to drain well as there was little or no standing water in them. Snack bar has good hot dogs and sausages at reasonable prices. I'll try again in the spring to see if the fairways have filled out any.

Round 2 of 2 today. We just got done playing a great round at a nice course and we wanted to play Bayside or Bear Trap but both were booked and our options were Ocean Pines (a dump) or Deer Run (a dump & a joke). A few years back this course was ok then a couple years ago is started going downhill. Since we had the itch to play again and this was on the way home we figured why not. This was the biggest mistake I EVER made. I usually can find one nice thing to say about a bad course like the staff was friendly or the layout was nice or the drinking water on the course was cold, I can't think of one nice thing to say. The fairways seriously looked like someone's yard that had not been mowed in weeks, the tee boxes had the highest grass I have ever seen on any part of a course (seriously), the greens were more like the browns just sand and dirt everywhere. This course is also a hazard and I'll tell you why. Since the grass on the fairways were so high you can't seen how uneven the ground is and hidden under that grass is mounds of dirt. On Hole 3 I took a hard swing with my 6 iron and almost broke my wrist. As my club head came across the ground maybe an inch before impact the club struck a huge hard mound of dirt must have been 2 or 3 inches thick but the grass was so high I could not see it. Other than us the only people out there was like 10 seniors. My group of 3 lost so many balls on the fairways today it was sick. Plus here is the kicker, while I was in the restroom which is right in front of the counter that checks you in and SELLS FOOD, I'm standing there using the toilet and out from the walls comes not one but two mice. I was like WTF are you kidding me. I said something to the woman and she was like yeah we have a little problem here with field mice did you not see the traps in the bathroom????? I wounder if the county health department knows they have "a little problem" with mice. Bottom line is you could not pay me anything to go back there again. I suspect this course is at the end of the line the only people I imagine that would even play this course are the cheapskates that go to the beach and look to play $40 golf. Trust me you are better off digging into those pockets and spending another 30-40 play River Run or something but don't waste you time or money here.

Labor Day weekend rate of $37 at 230 pm wasnt bad. Overall, the layout of this course is not good. 6 par 3's and par 5's that are 90 degree dogleg par 4's make this course feel like a executive course that was tried to be made into a regular course. Played from the tips and it read 6400 yards, but a lot of the yardage makers were way off, seems much shorter, probably 6200. Only used my driver a couple times and it was because its brand new and I wanted to hit it. Crabgrass everywhere on greens made it difficult to putt on line (very bumpy). Fairways were long and played more like intermediate cut. Bunkers were not raked at all. I will probably not be back.

Course is not particularly long but is does have some challenging holes (i.e., a peninsula par 3, among others). Greens, fairways, traps, rough, and tees are all in excellent condition. Snack bar is limited, but inexpensive. Staff is excellent.

After reading previous reviews I was a little bit disappointed with the conditions, even for winter the other courses I've played in the area are in better condition. But I like the layout - interesting and challenging. Don't let the short yardage fool you - there are six par threes - if this was a par 72 it would be 6500+ yards which is plenty long for most of us.

This is an interesting little course that is a pretty good value. Condition is good compared to other places played lately. The one criticism is some of waste areas that are all over the course. The logic of putting, large, very heavily vegetated obstacles very close to greens has never made any sense to me. For mid to high handicappers... they're penalized with a lost ball by missing the green by 15 yards? Why make it that hard... people are out there to have fun - not lose balls.

Course is short but there is water in play on every hole. Greens, fairways, rough, tees, and traps are in excellent condition. Sand in traps is light and fluffy, but a little thin in spots. Full snack bar in operation serving breakfast and lunch. Tee time book cost is $40 for seniors.

Ok so this site calls it one of the top courses???? It is pretty there is no doubt but it plays like a kid's course. I opened up with 3 pars and a bird and I'm not that good. I would have tore this track up if I was able to putt that day. Anyway if you want to waste your time with very little challenge go for it.

Fun course on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Par is 70, so course is short, but water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. It even has an island green (155 yards from the white tees). Course is in excellent condition and the staff is friendly and courteous.
