If there is one course that deserves an annual road trip, it's definitely Rock Harbor. This time we played the Rock Course, which has eighteen separate holes, in contrast with the Boulder Course that requires play of several holes twice until the construction of the remaining holes is completed. The new holes are spectacular, and the greens will undulate your sanity. Thankfully, the cloud cover held off the heat and humidity, and the thunder never materialized. Unlike most Northern Virginia courses, Rock Harbor always tries to let the carts in the fairways, which was the case this time in spite of some overnight rain.
