Second course played at Bay Creek Resort. What stands out on this course is so much bunkering!! And, in strategically placed locations! Even with wide fairways throughout, there are bunkers in most of the normal/logical landing places, so you need to think your way around the course. The front nine is beautiful, with several holes running alongside the Chesapeake Bay providing lovely views and nice breezes. (NOTE: They are doing some construction, it looks like to shore up some of the erosion from the Bay. When the crane is gone, this stretch of holes would be breathtaking!) The Nicklaus was the tougher challenge of the two, but I also thought less forgiving. The back nine is more traditional in look and feel. As with the Palmer, the low rating on the greens was due to aeration and some unrepaired divots; but the fairways were a tad bit more consistent and fewer "Spring dead spots." Staying on property provided us better rates than might be otherwise. And, my comments in the other review about the staff stands...I can't say enough about how valued I felt based on interactions with staff. Top rate!

Fabulous, absolutely fabulous. Always love coming here, it is always in fantastic shape. Doesn't get a lot of play. It's a pretty long haul to get here, maybe 2 hours south of Ocean City. But it's worth the drive if you're on the Eastern Shore, just like being in Myrtle only about 300 miles closer.

Wide Bermuda-grass fairways, bay-front holes, terrific layout. Greens, fairways, tee boxes in great shape. Great service in the pro shop, on the course, in the restaurant. Five stars all around. Not cheap but the replay is only $34 so if you play 36 it's not a bad deal.

The Nicklaus course is by far the tougher of the two - target golf at its best, sometimes not a lot of options for how to play the hole. Palmer course is much easier. Par-5 18th hole on Palmer is an awesome way to finish the day, one of the best holes anywhere.

The 8th ranked course in Virginia by Golfweek Magazine will not disappoint. Nicholas saw what Palmer was able to do at this resort and may have topped him. The water, bunkers, and trees were all meticulously placed making accuracy a must.
