Based on previous reviews, I decided to drive over to Delaware and try this course. We played in 4 hours and never saw another soul until the 18th--it was nice to have the entire course to ourselves. It had apparently rained overnight, because the fairways were wet, even soggy. I would have thought they would have drained a little better. Heritage Shores is a nice course, but honestly I wasn't overly impressed. Mushrooms growing and patches of dirt in many of the fairways, and a lot of unfixed divots. Tee boxes and greens were in great shape, and the bunkers had nice sand. The rough was thick and consistent, and a little long due to an inability to mow because it was wet. At $62 on a Wednesday, I really think there are better deals. This is a 55+ community with a nice golf course and other amenities, but not a resort-level course. Maybe I just had the wrong expectations after reading the reviews. I would give it a 3.5 stars (average).
