I've played this course four times now, and each time I like it a little less. I do like the two par-5 finishing holes, 9 and 18. Other than those the layout is fairly run-of-the-mill. In the past I've been impressed with the conditions, but they have dropped off a bit. The greens in particular are riddled with unrepaired ballmarks. I don't think the course gets a whole lot of play, but those that do play here apparently don't like to bend over.

I think the previous review said it all, the course was wet. So I guess with heavy rain the night before it would be soaked and uncut. Anyway I will post pictures of this course on my next review. Bottom line is this is the best deal on the shore and I will put the facilities up against any other top course, Bayside, Bear Trap Dunes. Anyway they just aerated so I would give it a couple weeks. If you have a players card here that cost $165 with a free round right from the get then you can play December-FEB for free, and with the mild winter last year I played 10 times for free, how do you beat that deal?

Based on previous reviews, I decided to drive over to Delaware and try this course. We played in 4 hours and never saw another soul until the 18th--it was nice to have the entire course to ourselves. It had apparently rained overnight, because the fairways were wet, even soggy. I would have thought they would have drained a little better. Heritage Shores is a nice course, but honestly I wasn't overly impressed. Mushrooms growing and patches of dirt in many of the fairways, and a lot of unfixed divots. Tee boxes and greens were in great shape, and the bunkers had nice sand. The rough was thick and consistent, and a little long due to an inability to mow because it was wet. At $62 on a Wednesday, I really think there are better deals. This is a 55+ community with a nice golf course and other amenities, but not a resort-level course. Maybe I just had the wrong expectations after reading the reviews. I would give it a 3.5 stars (average).

Like many of the better courses on the Eastern Shore Heritage Shores is in great condition. I'm not going to go on and on just ready my many previous reviews on this place because nothing has changed. I did bring someone here a month ago and they commented that not only was this one of the better public course but it was in better condition than most private courses and I would agree. When I say totally green I mean totally green. This is the most underrated course near the beach and you will see that as soon as you ride into the course and see hole #10 & 11. You will be wondering why you waited so long to play here.

Course is in immaculate condition. Pretty good deal considering the quality of the course. We had the place to ourselves at 1pm (it being 100 degrees probably part of the reason). They had coolers with ice in the carts but the cart girl went home because there were so few golfers on the course.

When they get more houses built the course will be a little less appealing. As it is the front nine has no houses but the back nine does. They do not encroach very much except on 15, but they do detract from the experience a little. When I play golf - particularly when I'm on vacation - I like to feel I'm in a park, not somebody's backyard. We played Rum Pointe the day before. Quality of the layout/conditions are similar but the difference in scenery is night & day. Play the course now before they get it built up.

Well manicured course. Very fair with wide fairways. Bunkers have nice soft sand. Water comes into play on several holes but is not a major problem. Fairways are like the greens on some courses. Excellent course with a good pace of play. Would highly recommend this course.

This course remains the best deal on the Shore. There are two greens that were only about 80% since the winter aeration but they were still better than 95% of any other course including the $125+ ones. The greens are very fast, the fairways are perfect as well as the tee boxes. It was a little windy the day I played but the wide fairways keep you out of trouble. Out of all the big course down there Baywood, Lighthouse, Glenn Riddle, Bayside this place is in the best shape right now.

Round 1 or 2 today and what a way to kick off the day. They aerated not too long ago but other than a few spots on the greens you would not know it. The course is in GREAT shape. For those of you who play on the shore a lot let me say there is not a better deal around than this place. You pay $160 for the year and it includes the following #1 a Free round as soon as you join so since a prime round is $75 your into the deal for $85. Every time you play you get about $25 off on the round plus one guest gets your rate. December-February NO GREENS FEES so this year with the great weather I played 9 times for free there is $500 I saved. Plus you get 25% off in the pro shop and every dollar you spend rather it be on golf, food, balls, clothing, BEER whatever you get a point for each dollar spent. When you get to 600 points you get another free round. The carts have coolers, ball & club washers and GPS with the flyover feature. The layout of this course is wide open with wide fairways and water on quite a few holes that make it challenging. The restaurant is top notch with more than fair prices and super friendly people. Trust me you wont go wrong playing here and it is only 30 minutes from the DE beaches and 40 minutes from Ocean City. I drive down from Baltimore every other Friday all year long to play here.

Keep in mind this is a winter review, the grass is not green right now but it is there with almost no dirt patches. The greens are still very quick and smooth. I guess you can call this my home course since I play 20+ rounds a year there and I'm a member. I'm not making a partial statement here but an honest one. This course all year round is one of the best kept in the entire Eastern Shore area. This course has been better maintained then Lighthouse Sound and Rum Point. This course is a true gem, with the best most well equipped carts you will ever ride in. The GPS with the flyover feature lets a person who has never played there play the course as if you have been there 100 times. The pro shop is great and restaurant is top notch (I own a top restaurant so that statement carries some weight). Hey if you want to spend hundreds of dollars this spring/summer and lesser courses be my guest. If you want to play a great overall course then visit Heritage Shores.

This place is a gem, wide open fairways, long, nice greens. The course is built in a retirement community but a good distance from the houses. They have the best GPS system I have ever played with with a flyover feature you need not have played there before to get perfect information from any location on any hole and you see distance and hazards (it is great) carts have ball and club washers, coolers, and so many places to store your items. The staff is very friendly and the pro shop and restaurant is top notch. You can become a member for $160 get your first round $70 free then $20 off each round you play making it $50 plus a discount for one guest every time you play. When you play 8 rounds the 9th is free and December, January, Feb you pay NO Greens fees. $12 for the cart. It is easy to get to off 404 maybe hour and 20 minutes from Baltimore. If you have not played here you need to check it out. It blows Queestown away and is only an extra 35 minutes to get to. I'm lucky to have a place near by to vacation but even if I did not I would still go all the time. So far I have got about 80% of my friends I have taken there from Baltimore to join so this should tell you all you need to know.

This is a great scoring course and it is beautiful. They have a great deal where you pay $160 get a free round right then, pay $20 less on every round, a free round after 8 plays includes when you bring a guest. One guest also gets the discounted rate and free golf Dec-Feb. This is my top pick for places to play down the beach including Glen Riddle & Lighthouse.

Had a 50% promotion over the holiday. $35. Staff is very accommodating all the way through. Greens rolled very nicely/true. Actually played here twice. First from white tees second from blues. It is a 3 year old facility in an adult community. Touts it is designed for 55 and older. Our 23 year old son really enjoyed this place as did I. Pace of play was good. practice facility was very nice. Would go back here anytime.

Little bit of drive from the shore, but well worth it. Course is only a couple years old an in immaculate condition. The design is fun & challenging and the facilities & staff are great. Played from the whites and couldn't even imagine playing from the tips (over 7,000 yards!!!). If you're vacationing nearby, from Rehoboth to Ocean City, definitely put this course on your MUST PLAY list. It will not disappoint.

This course is only a year old but you'd never know it. It's in fantastic condition and the greens are great--very true. Lots of water but if you're shots are true you shouldn't have a problem. This will become a regular stop for you if you give it a chance. The staff is very helpful and the overall facilities are very good. Don't miss this one.
