Well, I have mixed feelings about this course. Pros: course in excellent shape (other than extra grass clippings in the fairways), greens were fast and undulating, staff very nice and welcoming, and pace was good at 4.5 hrs. Cons: lots of environmental areas--creeks, streams, ravines--to carry in the oddest of places, #18 really dumb layout for a finishing hole, and (athough well-meaning) at the end of the round the staff rushed you in an attempt to be helpful. My major issue with this course is that it looks like the holes were plopped into the land, with not a lot of thought given to design, flow and grading. On some of the holes, you have to tee off with an iron and hit the hell out of a 3 Wood to carry the ravine. Just could never get into a rhythm. There are 5 sets of tees, so take your pick; however, don't underestimate the white or black tees. The whites may be short at 5884 and sloped at 68.9/124, but there are a lot of strange distance carries. And, the blacks are 6467 and sloped at 71.7/134 and will take all the strategic thinking you have...and clubs in your bag. From the green tees (primarily women's), it is a bit choppy. In a nutshell, I liked the greens, no houses on the course, and it's only an hour from Baltimore. But, it's just not my kind of course. As a side note, the train runs regularly beside some of the holes (main rail corridor between Wash-NYC), and there are 9 miles of cart path, with no return to the clubhouse. Better hope the beverage cart is moving around, which it was today. Finally, Delaware Park Casino is on property, so you can make a stop before leaving.

What can I say ...this course is always in tip top shape...its worth the splurge or treat to yourself every once in a while. Very challenging and on one hole in particular you can hear the horse race at delaware park....its actually kinda cool and not distracting at all....the course layout is fantastic and if you don't have a skycaddie I recommend picking up a book for course layout otherwise you'll be wishing you would have later....great course ...highly recommend it.

Always in great shape but the pace of play continues to be too slow. No marshalls. When questioned the pro shop why the pace was so slow - his answer "too many golfers" This is not the first time i have run into the pace of play here

First rate golf course, greens and fairways were very good condition. I think water was in play on almost every hole. Great food in the clubhouse is always a plus! Would definitely play again.
