Played The Rookery North in Milford on a Saturday early morning to try to beat the rain forecasted. We were successful! Got the round in--playing in 4 hrs. With the Tee Time Book, it's $45 anytime on the weekend, which is a great deal. I have never played the course, so let's start with the pro's: decent layout; even errant shots can be found because all brush and low-hanging branches cut and there is little trouble; greens were a very nice speed and mostly in good shape (a couple had minor spots); and the staff was really nice and accommodating and got us out early...before a shotgun started. The con's: fairways were just okay with a mixture of grasses so a tad inconsistent feel; only 3 tee boxes to choose from (tips were 6393 and the next down were 5946); and it was an average Eastern Shore type course...flat, not very challenging, and doglegs. It's about 1 hr 50 mins. from Baltimore, but we shot up to Dover Downs Casino afterwards for lunch and gambling, so made a day of it. A decent course reasonably priced.

Greens overall were smooth with some bumpy areas due to poa annua. I'd expect them to even out as there was evidence of the greens being treated for that. Some players that did not respect the course left un-repaired ball marks on greens. Fairways were in great shape with no bare spots. Rough was thick even where it was mowed that day. Traps were manicured. An east wind added or subtracted a club, depending on the orientation of the hole being played.

I played as an early afternoon walk-on and was on the tee immediately. Cruised around the course in a little over 3.75 hours. A brief shower that lasted about 20 minutes just as I was about to make the turn slowed the greens a bit. Pro shop staff were friendly as always, as were the restaurant folks.

The greens were a little bumpy with a bunch of unrepaired ball marks. The rest of the course was in good shape and much like previous visits I enjoyed the round. The staff is always pretty friendly here and it is one of the best values on the Delaware beach side of the Eastern Shore. If you have not played here before give this course a shot

Good pace of play on a playoff football Sunday - Under 4 hours with a pretty good amount of play. Some warmer/drier weather has given the course a bit of firmness. No complaints about the playing surface or the staff, which got me into a group within minutes.

This is one of the few courses on the Eastern Shore that I had not played so I wanted to try something new and I'm glad I did. The course was in decent shape, keep in mind most of the DE courses I play are in prime shape so this was slightly off but not bad. The pace of play was great, the course was well manicured, and the greens were fast but not too fast and smooth. I will be returning to play this course very soon and I suggest adding it to your list of places to play. The layout is ok and challenging without being killer. One bad thing was the water there had a funny taste to it so get bottled water or something.

I shot down to The Rookery yesterday after work to play a quick nine; I needed to unwind a little bit. I have only played the North Course a handful of times, but it was just what the doctor ordered. The course is fairly forgiving, with wide open fairways and what I consider to be large greens. There wasn't much of a crowd, which was nice. I was able to play at my own pace and just enjoy the scenery. I was a little taken back by the price for it being so early in the season, but hey, when it was all said and done with, it was worth every peeny. If you ever make it to Milton, DE be sure to look-up The Rookery, you won't be let down!!

Decent experience. Rough was burnt out in a lot of areas, but that can be expected since we haven't gotten a ton of rain. The greens were chewed up around the holes a little bit, but didnt effect the putts to much. Fairways were in great condition. Staff was friendly and the beverage cart was around frequently. $55 at 230pm on 4th of July weekend, not bad. Fun course to score.

What a great value! Great views, friendly staff & challenging holes at an extremely reasonably price. The food at the Grille is top notch! It's a short ride from Dewey, but friends living in Bethany felt it was well worth the drive. Definitely plan on revisiting ASAP!

The Rookery is a great course in Rehobeth Beach. The course sports a wide open links style layout. The Fairways were in near perfect conditions, with the greens and tee boxes not far behind. I loved the manicured fringe around the greens and the well placed bunkers. Definitely a must play!
