They spent over $1 million on special landscaping and it shows! Beautiful course, score-able and absolute perfect conditions all around. Must play in the area!

Greens were aerated in early December and they have not filled-in, even with temps in the 50's. Cart path only, which is status quo in December here at Baywood. Also staus quo: silt fencing surround sand traps and no sand rakes. So,,,, is this ground under repair or what? Pro shop does not say anything about that. Temporary tee on #11. Course was not busy at all, and there was a 5-some in front of me.

The crown jewel of scenic course on the east coast. Baywood in the spring and summer is about as close to perfection as you will find. This is a very challenging course with the back 9 labeled "the water course" #14 offers the risk reward Island fairway, not island green but fairway. Oh and if you want an Island green #11 will give you all you need. The facilities are great, the practice range is very top notch, the restaurant is 4 star and the staff is very friendly. The rates are around $100 but you can get specials on the internet for $50-75 or play at 4pm for just $45.

Not only is this course beautiful and in great shape, but it is obviously designed to drain well. We had some rain this morning and it was cart-path only, yet there were only a few soggy spots in the fairways and the greens were soft but still pretty quick. This is a resort course designed to let you shoot a good score- wide fairways, free drops from flower beds, relatively flat greens. The main difficulty here is the thick rough which can make for difficult up-and-downs.

One complaint: the course is poorly marked for yardages. Like many courses these days, they depend totally on GPS in the carts. When the carts have to stay on the path that leaves golfers in a bind. I carry a laser rangefinder so I can deal with it, but they should have more yardages on sprinkler heads just for situations like today.

A dream come true!!!!! I have lived in Delaware for 10 years now. I first found out about Baywood about 5 years ago when my wife and I were trying to find a place for our wedding reception. Since the first time I layed eyes on this course, I knew that I had to play it. This past weekend, my fantasy became a reality! I am about to have knee surgery this coming friday so, as a surprise, my wife took me to Baywood for twilight golf(rate above is twilight; normal rate is $119). I was stunned, I didn't even want to walk on the course because it just looked so perfect. Words cannot describe how absolutely beautiful and amazingly designed this course is. I found myself gazing at the breath-taking scenery more than playing my round. The fairways were top-notch, they literally could not be any better and the greens were like none other. The course is very, very challenging; I lost a few balls that day. When I was in the pro-shop, I was talking to some guys about the course and explaining that it was my first time every playing here. They chuckled and wished me good luck. I think one of them said that each hole was was copied from a hole on the pro tour, I could be wrong though. I know that playing the holes felt like they were pro tour to say the least. Lets just say this, if I die tomorrow, I will die a happy man. The English dictionary doesn't have enough adjectives to describe how amazing this course really is!!

I was here a few weeks ago and figured the aeration would have grown in 100% but I was wrong it is more like 75%. This is one of my favorite spots to play for the challenge and beautiful surroundings. You often hear me complain about the snotty staff but recently the old men waiting to clean clubs have been getting on my nerves. Ok I played at a discounted rate but I also spend while I'm there and expect things. I teed off at 3:30 and it was 6:30 when I walked off #10. They had a group of teens (3) hacking the place up in front of me and the two guys I joined up with then a twosome joined the teens with 2 other foursomes on #11. This place gets backed up so bad and the only way to play it with any chance of finishing is to pay full rate of $100-$120 and play early, not worth it to me at all rather spend that kind of money at Bayside. Here I come off and the old men say that was quick???? Really no it was very slow and I got sick of waiting and rather than have 8 of you here BSing with each other get out there and speed this place up, now get your hands off my clubs and let me get out of here. Seriously this place is very very slow. Other than Bob who works in the pro shop these people will make you sick they are rude, old, and dumb.

This site is for us to rate and warn golfers of courses at the time of posting so I am. Before I start let me say during Spring / Summer this is one of my favorite courses to play and it is the most scenic you will ever see, but NOT right NOW. First of all we get there at 8:30 in the morning very tight from 36 holes the day before then we find out the range is closed for sometime and they just aerated 3 days before. Well this is one of the worst jobs I have EVER seen and I have played plenty of time the day after aeration. The greens are complete sand, not a little or mostly but 100% and most of the tee boxes only had 3 or 4 feet to tee off from because there was something that looked like goose poop all over them. There must have been 50 people planting flowers and every hole had 2 or 3 people working on them. EVERY trap is covered in black tarp. It was 80 out and no water and we did not see a cart lady until the 17th hole. Now I'm sure all this hard work will pay off as usual in a month but avoid it until mid April. The one thing I can't stand about Baywood even when the course is in nice shape is the rude staff in the pro shop that continues to get ruder by the year. They have another 9 holes they have been working on since 2008 and every year they say oh next year it will be open then next year. Well I asked the guy this year what the deal is you know when will it be open? He says "When it opens it opens" I felt like saying F*** You. I really want to tell these people off one day. I'm sure I make 100K more a year at least so I don't need some prick talking to me like that. I feel like saying I play the course and you wash my clubs so have a little respect for who helps you make those trailer payments. Now the men who really do wash your clubs and load your cart are really nice guys always have been. Anyway just felt like venting on how bad Baywood is right now and a waste of money for the next month or so.

The course is not in good winter shape right now and starting December 1st it is always cart path only. Compared to other courses near Baywood there are much better options right now like Heritage Shores which is in great shape. Under $40 so it is your call

Baywood Greens is hands down the finest golf experience on the Delaware/Maryland Eastern Shore, Lighthouse Sound and Rum Pointe included. Fun layout, excellent conditions (not perfect, the course gets enough play to make one wish more golfers were more attentive to repairing ball marks/replacing divots), and amazing scenery. No two holes alike, nothing too difficult but overall not an easy course. Do not miss this one.

If you have not played Baywood yet you need to. It is one of the best looking courses around and one of my top picks for anyone going to play down the beach. However with that being said play at 4pm when the rate drops from $130 to $55. If you are playing for the first time it could eat you up quick with water on almost every hole on the back 9. I promise you will walk away and rate it in the top 10 places you have ever played. I'm lucky I get to play there every other weekend

A golf buddy and I drove from DC to Delaware, in search of a golf course for a weekend getaway. What we found was simply AMAZING. From the Staff, to the Starter, to the Marshals, everyone was Superb. Its still early in the golf season, so the course hadn't had a good chance to fully develop. And for my Active Duty and Retired Military members, don't forget to ask for your Military Discount. glj

I played this course for the first time last year and I though it was one of the best courses I have ever played including ALL of the US Open locations I have played. I have played a half dozen times this year, my inlaws live near the property so I try to go down every other weekend to play. The people there are greta, the place is in great shape, and it is first class all the way. If you are taking a weekend golf trip to OC make sure this is one of the places you play. I like it better then Rum, Glen Rid, Lighthouse.

At $120 a round, it's tough to consider this course a "Bargain", but the Value is incredible. This is easily the nicest public course in MD, VA, DC and DE, and they truly give you the feeling of a "member for a day". The service is impeccable and the facilities are top notch. The course was in spectacular shape, as the fairways are manicured better than most public course greens. The greens were fast, and rolled very true. I would play this course again and again, as many times as I possibly could.

First class, that's all you can say about this place. Great service, great tract, great experience. If you're out at the MD/Del beaches, this is a must play. They are also adding more holes to the course, not sure when that is scheduled to open...

Let me just start off by saying this facility is just first class all the way around. Every employee of the course makes you feel like you are a member there for a day and the course itself is just special. Beautiful layout, challenging course, and five star treatment make the $115 for greens fees, cart, free range balls, etc. well worth it. If you're out in Ocean City or the Delaware beaches, this course is a must play.
