Nearly perfect conditions right now at Bayside. Immaculate greens running pretty quick, lush fairways and tee boxes (except 17 which was reseeded last year, seems to be coming back). Always love this course but it is very tough around the greens.

Tough course! If you suck at bunker play, don't play here; you'll never want to play golf again!

Course is in fantastic condition. A couple of tee boxes were closed for reseeding, a few dead areas in the rough where there is a lot of foot traffic to/from greens, but overall probably the best conditions I've seen in the area this week. They seem to be getting more play - last summer when I played here I had the place to myself but today there were many other groups in evidence. We still got around in under 4 hours - this course seems to have made a commitment to enforcing pace-of-play, plenty of course marshals around. This is a fun course off the tee but a tough one around the greens. Not too difficult today because the wind wasn't blowing.

This is by far the top public course on the eastern shore. I can not think of another place I would rather play when at the beach. The facilities are top notch and the course is very demanding but fair. This course takes everything out of you but you will enjoy every minute of it. The price is a little steep for guys who are used to playing 40-$60 course but do yourself a favor and come sip the fine wine of Bayside one time. Play the tips or one in and you will get a good idea of what the big boys play every weekend. This is a course that will make you use every club in your bag and really test your game. I'm going to make sure I play here another 4-6 times before the season ends. Also check out near by 27 hole Bear Trap, I normally play both the same day but I did not have time but I was at Bear Trap for lunch and the course from what I seen looked like it is 100% ready to kick your butt shape.

The course was in excellent Winter condition almost Spring like. This is one of the true top 100 courses (public) in the US. The course is very well maintained, GPS with flyover and pro advice. This is also one of the hardest courses I have ever played and I have played many. It has a way of taking you our of your game if you start out bad because it gets harder as you go along. This is also not a good course for someone who does not have a straight drive because there is water in play on almost every hole. 20+ golfers should not come here #1 it cost $140 prime time and second you might spend that much in balls. Now for the golfer like myself who likes a challenge this is the first stop you should make on the shore. Last I seen Lighthouse Sound was a disgrace last year and this course makes play there seem like your on a muni. Bayside has everything you want, scenic holes, and a challenging ones. Excellent restaurant as well with a nice selection of cigars.

Let me start by saying...WOW. Bayside is a Class Act, GPS in carts(with hole flyover)Helpful and Courteous Staff and one incredible golf course.Bent Grass Tee to Green with superb conditioning.Views of Assawoman Bay are incredible.Course is long and tough but fair(landing areas are fairly generous).A little pricey but well worth the time and money.A definate must play when in the area.

This is a very nice looking course and a very hard one too. My only question is why are these courses charging so much to play? Bayside like Baywood are not in the center of all the action like Lighthouse but think they can get $130 a round. The one good thing is you don't have to worry about slow play because their are few people on the course.

This is a superior course in terms of conditioning and scenery. However, it is a little too difficult for a resort course. The course slope is 140 and is well-deserved. When I'm playing golf on vacation, I'm looking for a challenge, but not a bloodbath. The fairways are pretty generous, but from 100 yards in this course is brutal. Miss a green on approach and you are in a low swale or a deep bunker. Once on the green you have to putt defensively to avoid a three-putt. The course doesn't seem to be getting much play, this may be why. My son and I are both single-digit handicappers and really didn't enjoy ourselves today, despite the fine conditions and nice bay views.

I have nocomplaints about this course except for the cost. Greens, fairways, traps, rough, and tees are all nearly perfect. Course is laid out in a salt flat area, so if there is no wind, the bugs might be a problem. Both times I played here, there was a nice breeze. Excellent grill in the clubhouse as well as on on the juncture of the #9 and #16 tees.

Played as a 3 some on their $79.50 twilight rate. Greeted by staff and very accommodating upon arrival. Liked the signage letting us know who was on beverage carts and who our staff was we would be seeing that day. Party is now over. We begin our round with nobody in sight on the first hole...good sign. Spent the next 17 holes waiting on every shot. The round took almost 5 and a half hours. We asked players assistants ( which we saw often ) for some insight. They did nothing to help, and told us because we were 3 we should be more understanding and patient. The foursome behind us didn't buy that story either. Oh did I say it is in a swamp. Deer fly, horse fly, mosquitoes, and some other biting creatures make a 5 + hour round painful at best. Won't see me on this track again!

All aspects of the course are in excellent condition. However the price is a high. There are too many other courses that are currently in excellent condition that can be played for a lot less money. Aside from the cost, the layout the condition and the staff make me want to play this course again but it may be a while before I do.

Not one bad hole on this course. Bayside was in amazing condition and is absolutely beautiful. I would go out on a limb and say I would rather play here than most of the Ocean City courses.
