This is a superior course in terms of conditioning and scenery. However, it is a little too difficult for a resort course. The course slope is 140 and is well-deserved. When I'm playing golf on vacation, I'm looking for a challenge, but not a bloodbath. The fairways are pretty generous, but from 100 yards in this course is brutal. Miss a green on approach and you are in a low swale or a deep bunker. Once on the green you have to putt defensively to avoid a three-putt. The course doesn't seem to be getting much play, this may be why. My son and I are both single-digit handicappers and really didn't enjoy ourselves today, despite the fine conditions and nice bay views.

I have nocomplaints about this course except for the cost. Greens, fairways, traps, rough, and tees are all nearly perfect. Course is laid out in a salt flat area, so if there is no wind, the bugs might be a problem. Both times I played here, there was a nice breeze. Excellent grill in the clubhouse as well as on on the juncture of the #9 and #16 tees.

Played as a 3 some on their $79.50 twilight rate. Greeted by staff and very accommodating upon arrival. Liked the signage letting us know who was on beverage carts and who our staff was we would be seeing that day. Party is now over. We begin our round with nobody in sight on the first hole...good sign. Spent the next 17 holes waiting on every shot. The round took almost 5 and a half hours. We asked players assistants ( which we saw often ) for some insight. They did nothing to help, and told us because we were 3 we should be more understanding and patient. The foursome behind us didn't buy that story either. Oh did I say it is in a swamp. Deer fly, horse fly, mosquitoes, and some other biting creatures make a 5 + hour round painful at best. Won't see me on this track again!

All aspects of the course are in excellent condition. However the price is a high. There are too many other courses that are currently in excellent condition that can be played for a lot less money. Aside from the cost, the layout the condition and the staff make me want to play this course again but it may be a while before I do.

Not one bad hole on this course. Bayside was in amazing condition and is absolutely beautiful. I would go out on a limb and say I would rather play here than most of the Ocean City courses.
