Course is in great shape. Pace of place was nice. They just put GPS in the carts - very small screen but does the basic job.

Only complaint at this course is the driving range. I play here a lot and they always make you hit off mats which are in HORRIBLE shape. The mats sit in some type of wooden box which are all warped - no level lies. The mats do not have the rubber tees so you can hit your drive. Most people put a tee between the mats and hit from there. A shame that one of your first impressions of the course is the substandard driving range

First things first...a big hand clap to the new management ...they are really doing a fantastic job in turning this course back around to a great course. When I played greens were recently sanded and they still were rolling pretty good...they did an awesome job switching #8 and #17 par 3 around (previous management had a goofy setup) ...highly recommend thus course and Welcome Back .....

New owners have spent time, effort, and $$ to turn this into a very good course. Challenging, but fair. Tricky when the wind is blowing. Tough par 3s. Greens need a little more TLC and they will be xlnt. Good variety of holes - makes you use all the clubs in the bag. Quick pace of play. Modest pro shop, well stocked snack bar, xlnt restaurant, friendly staff.

Back Creek went bankrupt last year but still operational. I heard it had gone down hill but I keep getting e-mails advertising weekend tee times in the $40 range which is about half of their previous rates. In this case you don't get what you pay for because it was not worth even the 40 rate.

Last year the course was in great shape. What happened? The fairways had clumps of weeds, the greens had just been aerated (in the middle of May?) sand had not been properly swept into the holes and putting was impossible. The rough was U.S. Open thick and high. This course has been neglected and it shows. Used to like it, but I'm not going back.

Nice links style course close to 95 in Delaware. Still allows the opportunity to bang the ball off the tee on most holes, but definitely consult the yardage book before teeing off. Very classy clubhouse with solid food items at the turn. Buffalo Chicken Wrap is highly recommended.

Overall this is a great but difficult golf course. The greens were fast and tricky and long grass just outside the 2nd cut of rough turned bad tee shots into very bad situations. Although it's a little pricey ($75) the course was wide opened and we had no one infront of us or behind us all day. The clubhouse and especially the bathrooms were fantastic.

Back Creek is one of the nicest public courses in the state of Delaware. The conditions were nearly impeccable, with quick greens that rolled true. The fairways and tee boxes were in great shape as well. If you are in the area Back Creek is definitely a must play.
