Tiger Woods has filled out his entry form for the 2010 British Open.  He has won at St. Andrews in 2000 and 2005 is trying to become the first player in the 150 year history of the British Open to win three times at St. Andrews.

Tiger has already committed to playing in the US Open and the AT&T National and is expected to play in the Memorial, where he is the defending champion.

Japanese golfer Yuko Mitsuka has been fined a record $21,500 on Tuesday for slow play.  The fine came after she quit midway through the first round of the World Ladies Championship last week in protest of a two-stroke penalty she received for slow play.

Mitsuka announced that she will withdraw from eight domestic tournaments and three overseas events.

“This will be a lesson to other golfers,” JLPGA chief Hisako Higuchi said in Wednesday editions of the Nikkan Sports newspaper. “She has to take responsibility for her actions.”
