Tiger and Buick Part Ways

Last week, General Motors, Buick’s parent company, and Tiger Woods announced that they will terminate their 9 year relationship with 1 year remaining on the contract. With the way the economy is currently and the big 3 automakers taking the biggest loses in their company histories, one would think that GM decided to end this relationship to save money. The deal was reported to be worth around $7 million a year. While GM is trying to cut costs in every way possible, it was not the entire reason for ending the relationship a year early. According to Tigers’, agent Mark Steinberg, The decision to end the relationship a year early was “absolutely mutual.” Tiger wanted more time for himself with a 2nd child on the way. (more…)
