Is the golf season over?
So, I went to my normal neighborhood golf course yesterday and the parking lot was empty. Just two weeks ago this same parking lot was packed full, what was going on? Yes, it is September 29th which is very close to October, but the weather is still beautiful! In fact the weather is way better than any weather we had during the hot summer months. I don’t get it, do people forget about golf once Fall hits? The conditions are steadily improving since it is not real hot and we are getting frequent rain fall, yet there are less people on the courses. Throughout the Mid-Atlantic region we get a good seven golf months, why don’t our golfers take advantage of it?

Couldn’t agree more with you. Many of the courses are in great shape right now, and the change of seasons only makes the aesthetics of the courses that much more grand. However, the biggest issue is that there is much more to do on the weekends once summer is over. Between NCAA and NFL football, my weekends are pretty much jam-packed. Plus the fact that it gets darker earlier makes it much, much more difficult to get in the after-work 18 during the week. All-in-all thought, I know that my clubs will stay in my trunk until the first snow-flake . . .

Puttfor$ hit the nail right on the head. Football really does consume most of my weekends. I went from playing every weekend in the summer to once every couple weeks now.

Good thing I hate football, thanks to all those football loving golfers…I think the guys that like football are the bad golfers that slow down the course
